How in the F is the SCAR/aTm matchup considered a rivalry with no previous matchups?
ZERO previous matchups = HEY LET'S BUILD A TROPHY!

They are PERMANENT RIVALS. Kind of like Aggy and Texas before Aggy got ascared and stopped playing them.

I like the actual trophy, but having a trophy for a game that hasn't been played yet is definitely dumb.

I wouldn't be too surprised. But once again, who cares? It's just a hunk of metal that will go in a display and be forgotten.

all the sec permanent rivalries make sense to me - these are the leftovers and they are a good fit as well..late to the sec party - rabid fanbase - outer edge of deep south - above avg teams right now making for a good opener now and seasons to come
