It was fantastic! One of my favorite SEC stories.

Will always love the HBC.

I was around back when Spurrier was playing and theres no way to describe that era.He brought UF back several times late in the fourth qt when we were down....NC State 1966 comes to mind, 1964 Miss State...1965 WLOCP etc etc.

He did sit on the bench with the 49ers for about 9 yrs behind John Brodie...the funny part is that he and George Mira were both sitting on the bench for a couple of years...Mira was the "matador" who played for Univ of NJ @ Coral Gables....lost his senior year to the Gators and Spurrier (soph) in 1964 12-0 I believe (from memory)in a defensive game where Larry Dupree ran as hard as he could.

he 1976 Bucs were awful on offense...cheapazz Culverhouse had low low payroll and spent most of it on defense. Culverhouse didn't like the Gators and was a Bama guy.

I believe!!!!!!!

Glad they didn't dwell on the reasons why he didn't return to UF instead of taking the USCe job.
