Honestly, how do you get excited for Idaho or South Dakota State and the likes?

In regards to opening the season.
We've been blessed with playing decent teams to open: NC State, East Carolina, North Carolina, Texas A&M. Not world beaters but decent.
Do you guys like cupcakes first to ease into the football season? Or do you prefer big time matchups to see your team tested early?

I always liked the 4 ooc games in a row.

I've always enjoyed stat games. It allows you to get your first real look at the guys that are going to be the future of your program.

After the season we just had I'm excited as hell to see a healthy team...regardless of who we are playing

I'm honestly not trying to flame any team, just trying to get an idea.
I mean back when we sucked, every game was a big game for us. Even the likes of New Mexico State.
Now that we're playing very well, I just can't imagine being excited about playing a hodum team to start the season. Other than being excited that football is back, of course.
I'm surprised a Missouri fan hasn't thought this was about them yet

Because it's football.
And I can watch it without stress.
I don't look forward to starting off like you guys do, only because I like to ease into the stress.
It's bound to happen soon enough though. We can't have this nice scheduling forever.
ETA: Wtf brah, you're Mizzousessed. Etc.

Yeah, it suck opening with a D2 team. Maybe next year JJ will get on the phones early and get AU a quality team to play.

Our schedule is brutal most years. When that brutality happens is really of no matter to me.
However, with 4-8 in the not so distant past and another new OC, I'm glad for a cupcake in game one to get the ball rolling.
Oh and since 1992, which SEC [team] has scheduled the reigning National Champion on their OOC slate? I'll hang up and listen.
Edited for chicken lips

When you're 1-0, the sky's the limit.
When you're 0-1, half your fan base is looking to fire the coach and start a new season.

For what it worth Roady, I look for you guys to do big things this year. Too much pride in that program not to make a statement.
Good luck. Let's hope our game at The Swamp means something.

its easier to get pumped up for those games when they're your opener.
its when chattanooga shows up in week 11 that makes it hard to get excited for

I kind of agree.
Idaho sucks and normally I'd not be excited at all other than football is back. But, we need the reps for practice. I just wish our third cupcake game wasn't moved.

I didn't know there were multiple SECs.

Poop and you know what I meant.

That was for the "Florida doesn't do the GAME - COCKS cheer" from earlier.

We'll it's not Idaho, but one of the best UF games I've been too (I grew up a UF fan, dad went there) was vs Hawaii in 2008 and it was a blow out. Point is it was still an awsome game because you got to see all the athletic ability burst out, that doesn't stand out as much vs a legit opponent.
* lost of good highlights vs teams of the lower teir.

Hawaii had a rough go of it at the end of '07 getting blown out by Georgia in the sugar bowl and then opening AT Florida in '08.
