Former West Virginia quarterback Pat White took to his podcast the other night to explain his comments about Alabama offering him a corvette during his recruitment, according to AL.com.

"My statement was that I am still glad I turned down a Corvette from the Crimson Tide to become a Mountaineer -- which is not at all saying the University of Alabama offered me a car," said White. "There are plenty of people associated with or even want to be associated with (Alabama) in that area or around the area. I wasn't saying Alabama offered me a car."

White went on to say that the reason he chose the Mountaineers was due to their honesty, where he felt a lot of the SEC teams were feeding him lies.

"A lot of SEC schools that were recruiting me were, I think, selling me dreams," he said. "They started off recruiting me as an athlete and then when other schools came in the picture and recruited me strictly as a quarterback, some of those other schools that were 'athlete' at first changed to 'quarterback.' For me, that was a red flag."

Of course UA didn't offer him anything.

Boosters may have.

And half the team is probably breaking some sort of NCAA rule. The same is probably true for every top program.

But then that is why no one really cares about the NCAA.

How so? If you don't believe some booster could have, and likely did, offer him a car you are the clown. His clarification was important, though internet trolls are too dumb to understand the distinction. The last part about how schools offered him, I see that all the time in recruiting and it bugs me too when kids fall for it. Its a pretty nice and honest interview and I appreciated it.

My opinion, I'm entitled to it. Of course I believe a Booster could offer something like that.

Played my HS ball against him when he played for daphne. I played for fairhope. He is just shifty. Couldn't throw worth a shite and he was made of glass. He got lit up by several guys. Robert Lester ate his lunch when he was younger in a daphne foley game. Overrated and butt hurt he wasn't good enough to live up to what he thought he was.

No booster offered him anything. No booster at that point would have put Bama in Death Penalty jeopardy for a SQUIRT

I agree, what was he coming out of HS? A 3 star?
We weren't THAT desperate.
