How would you rank cities in SEC States in terms of SEC team neutrality?

From most neutral to least neutral?
1) Tampa and Miami
2) Atlanta
3) Nashville
4) Memphis
5) Dallas, Houston, St. Louis I am assuming are neutral but I Confess I do not know a lot about the newcomers.
6) Every other city is anything but neutral. New Orleans, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Little Rock, Columbia SC, Louisville, Mobile, Jackson, Baton Rouge are overwhelmingly pro the local schools.

If Nashville is neutral, that is pretty sad for Vandy.

Believe it or not there are a lot Vandy fans in Nashville. But there are tons of Bama, Vol, Rebel, Wildcat and War Eagle fans also. It is what it is.

Louisville is very split, so it's not overwhelmingly either UofL or UK. How are you defining neutrality? As something akin to apathy?

There are more vol fans just in Nashville than there are vandy fans in the entire world.

Tampa and Miami
Tampa is a Gator town as far as the SEC goes. It's not really neutral.
Miami is keenly unaware of any football games going on unless UF or FSU are in town. Just look at the stadium attendance at UM games.

I would assume, lots of students come from out of state

St Louis is far from neutral. Mizzou is the overwhelming college affiliation in my fine city.
KC would be good for your list though. Just due to proximity, lots of ku, KSU, and Nebraska fans there.

Not apathy but an environment where no one team can garner support from 50% or more of the local population.

There's a lot of Kentucky fans in Louisville. It's fairly neutral.
ETA: while UofL fans have grown in the last few years, I wouldn't say it's overwhelmingly Louisville.
I think the last poll I read had it at around 50-60% UofL fans and 40% UK with some others like WKU sprinkled in.

Houston is definitely neutral then. A&M is the largest fan base but it's split between a bunch of schools and LSU is the only other one with a large presence that's SEC

Houston = big Aggie city, with a decent-sized LSU contingency as well.
After those two, a huge drop-off to the number 3 SEC team--whom I can't even identify, tbh.

I would of thought Jackson, MS was fairly neutral. Between Ole Miss, State, LSU, Bama, and USM fans.

Tampa and Miami are not good venues for SEC anything.

You are obviously not a native of Nashville which is very much a melting pot. If you were a native you would realize Alabama fans probably outnumber Vol fans and Vandy is closing the gap in Davidson and Williamson counties because more Nashvillians are becoming aware that UT is really the University of East Tennessee.

I lived in Memphis for several years, and found it a tilted a little towards Ole Miss, though I guess it was fairly neutral especially given its proximity to Oxford

UT is the biggest fanbase in the Nashville area. Bama and Kentucky are probably bigger than Vandy.

Not really accurate but whatever. Miami is a great city but not a great sports city at all.
When UF has events in Tampa - basketball most recently - the crowds are great.
No other SEC school holds events in Tampa so there's clearly no opportunities for the fans to show or not show.

When was this. When I lived their from '86-'96, I remembered much more UT fans than Ole Miss, or anyone else. Though, I do agree with Memphis being neutral.

Hahahaha try again. Born and raised in Nashville. Grandfather even played basketball on the Vandy '51 SECC team. I'm not trying to argue its a melting pot, cause it is (with UT holding a slight majority). What I'm saying is that Vandy fans have no foothold in Nashville, and that's sad, because it's the only place they have a chance to. There's a reason we call your pathetic excuse for a stadium Neyland west.
