I would think this is a no-brainer, but ya never know. I'm sure there are tons of UGA fans that would pull for our #1 rival (tech) to beat our #2 rival (uf). Some people just have different thought processes.

I assume most of you want Clemson to lose, but who knows. And for the record, I don't have any ulterior motives with this question, I'm simply curious.

I would pull for Georgia to beat South Carolina before I ever cheer for Clemson.

And believe me, neither will happen.

It's the only way to truly express how there is truly zero percent chance I cheer for Clemson. It did hurt to type.

I certainly wouldn't mind beating an undefeated Clemson team to ruin hopes and whatnot, but that doesn't mean I'd pull for them. If it just happened to be that way, then cool. If they happen to be 6-6, then lulz.

To each his own.

To me, I put UGA above all else, anything and everything (sports wise I mean). If me pulling for tech to win a game against someone, ensured that UGA would beat a big rival, that's a no brainer for me.

I don't want Georgia all pissed off again like last year.

Plus I'm not sure the relativity between Clemson beating UGA means South Carolina beats Clemson?

Not completely analogous.

I wanted UGA to lose last year, if only for the melt. That backfired on me, as UGA pulled the "backs against the wall" thing and beat USC.

This year, I don't really give a shite. I just want a good game. I expect UGA to win, but Clemson is going to give them all they can handle.

Potentially, we do have some question marks. But I don't know...it's weird. For some reason that I can't explain, I feel a lot better about this game than I reasonably should. I think we win by 2 touchdowns, fairly easily at that.

You're underestimating Clemson's defense, I think. Their D-line is very good, and they played with much greater intensity down the stretch last year. Venables ain't a world beater, but he's better than anything they've had in a while. However, UGA's strength is at the RB position. RB vs D-line/LBs is where this game is won or lost.

There is nothing about UGA's defense that is particularly inspiring, and the same thing with Clemson's offense. That's kind of a wash.

And I hate you for making me say something decent about the Men o Paws.

While this is fun, I'd rather them be 6-6 so we don't have to hear their bullshite all year until we whoop their arse.

What was it? 2010 when they started 8-0 and were top 5 and then subsequently melted. That was fun. Lol

I will not pull for clemson, and I couldn't think of a reason why any Gamecock fan would pull for clemson in this matchup against uga.

The only fathomable reason a Gamecock could ever pull for clemson is if a clemson victory directly aided an outcome for the Gamecocks.

So basically, I wouldn't cheer for them or say anything stupid like, "go taters!" but I would recognize how their victory might push us higher in the polls and better position us for a playoff spot in a late season or conference championship game..

For example, if SC was just outside of the Top 4 at the end of the season and needed clemson to beat va tech in the acccg in order to get the last remaining spot (regardless if we won/lost to Bama in the SECCG) then I could see myself hoping the taters beat va tech in order for the Gamecocks to get that playoff spot.

I'm talking about a hypothetical situation that was brought up by CNB. I'm not talking about any real life scenario.

Never pull for clemson. I do pull for Georgia except when it could help Carolina or when they lose to clemson. You have a chance to get back in good graces, don't blow it.
