Not a bad idea if you want to extort the left-leaning system, honestly.

Future politician or future women's studies professor.

Immediately made me think of this Archer scene

They also get into social fields very easily, along with government jobs (right now), journalist jobs.

The only time I've ever seen someone do something with a women's studies degree is getting an emergency cert to teach in an all-girl's school or if they're using it as a springboard to get into counseling dealing with a specific female population (i.e. Domestic abuse, rape, etc) and even at that they're having to go back for other degrees.

I watch a lot of Young Turks (just to see what the enemy is saying) and I see a bunch of people there with useless backgrounds.

Yeah they are never really journalists, but they are usually "contributors."

Girls who major in Women's Studies grow up to constantly bitch about there not being enough female engineers.

(instead of majoring in engineering, maybe)

Exactly, and it'd be way too easy to get into an organization like that as a writer or contributor, especially with that field.

It's kind of similar with the new libertarian movement from the right. It's unbelievably simple to get people to follow you -- especially if you're a minority and tow the line.

The Women's Studies is virtually the same thing.

I don't think there's anything wrong with her curriculum. I'm sure she knows it's hard to get work with that kind of degree. I'm not of the opinion that the only goal of education should be to get a good job.

It is a waste of money and degree's like this are one of the main reasons the level of student loan debt is out of control.

This is like the opposite of the "I'm gonna make a career change" thread.

In that thread it was all "do whatever makes you happy, frick money and be happy."

Now it's all "frick studying something that you enjoy, get a real major so you can make money doing a job you hate."
