Dave Matter confirms MS is out with a hip, HCGP thinks it could be worse than initially thought.

I kind of figured this was coming. Too many years of following the Cards and hearing "It's nothing big." just to find out it was a career ending injury. Hopefully not that bad for Steward but had an uneasy feeling it was worse than thought.

Saw this coming.

Even if he's heeled in a couple weeks, the guy has missed all of camp. Can't see him reaching his potential this year.

I hate to hear this. But it creates an opportunity for Walters or Witter.

For some reason don't think Walters is going to play, just Ish.

Would have thought it was the other way around.

Russ goes down, maybe they take the RS off Walters.

I think it hinges on how badly the staff wants Murphy to play WR. If they're happy with the other WR's, they'll keep Murphy at RB and Walters will RS. If there isn't much WR production and they feel they need to move Murphy to a larger role at WR, I can see them burning the redshirt.

You could be right. I would expect to see Ish play first. Guess we will see. Either way, it creates an opportunity. If we can continue to stay as healthy as we have so far, I'll be happy.

Yeah, lots of moving parts. RB health and WR play will determine how he's used.

Murph is the most finesse player on the team, using him 70% of the time in the slot and 30% at RB would help keep him less banged up than if he was strictly at RB. Ideally I'd hope he can play 35ish plays at receiver and 15ish at RB each game.

It sucks as he is a good power back but if there is one position where Mizzou can survive a loss it's RB. We have great depth with guys who at any moment can take it to the house from anywhere.

murphy has butterfingers, I don't want him getting extra carries.

Murphy is the best player we have on offense.

He's great but he's a FUMBLER. Do you know what a fumbler is?

I don't disagree about his fumbling issues. He is the only legit threat to score anytime he touches it though. May just have to take the good with the bad.

Holy crap he is explosive as hell and you don't want him to touch the ball???? How many of those fumbles on on special teams compared to carries???
