Just wondering if Robinson is simply that good that he can beat everyone else out for the LT position, or is our depth at that position really that poor?

Should we be celebrating or slitting our wrists?

I think he is very good but he didn't have much competition.

I think he must be pretty good so far, or grant hill or brown/jackson would be playing, or they world have moved sheppard to lt and played him at rt. He is probably going to be excellent with a few games of real experience

They say he is the real deal. I expect him to perform better than CK. Might be overkill on my expectations, but I feel pretty good about the kid.

I don't understand how anyone could think this. There are a ridiculous number of talented offensive linemen on campus right now. Grant Hill was getting talk as a starter last season and got snaps at RT during real game time, not garbage time. Saban called him possibly one of the best 6 OL on the team at the time. The only positions in Tuscaloosa I can think of with not much competition are kicker and punter.

We do have a lot of talent at OL just not at LT. Who are the true LTs on the roster and I mean true LT? CRob is the only one. That's what I meant by not a lot of competition.

I think he's that good. Obviously he'll have Freshman bumps, but I like his potential. And I think he's a bit further along technically than say CyKo was coming out.

Funny thing is, if another LT was in his place people would be saying that C-Rob must be a bust because he couldn't take the job from a 4* scrub.

Since he won the job people are saying Bama's Oline depth is horrible because a true freshman won the job.

The cycle.

He's really good. The question is will teams trot out there a 240 pound LB with legit speed to challenge him a la Oklahoma against CyKo.

Cyrus played pretty well against traditional DEs but played like shite against Striker.

CRob is already stronger than Cyrus so I think he'll be ok against the bigger dudes. It's the smaller, quick frickers I'm worried about.

We saw this guy at A-Day and aside from having some issues with speed rushers he was solid. His problems with speed rushers persist but who doesn't have problems with speed rushers. I expect there will be some growing pains but if this guy improves with playing time he could be very solid by time we hit the meat of our schedule. Probably his biggest challenge will be Florida and Ole Miss in weeks 4 and 5. If our QB's are still upright by then I think we will be ok.

I think he is that good. I look at it this way. Last year Ole Miss started Laremy Tunsil and he only gave up one sack, and he plays the same competition as Bama. If Tunsil can do it then so can Cam Rob. I still think the weakest link on our o-line will probably be Arie K.

That being said I think that we will see a lot of TE help especially with the speed rushers. Hopefully Vogler and Howard have improved in that respect.

I can't think of a LT in college thats not going to get beat in a footrace to the edge with a guy like that, 100lbs lighter. I just want to know why there wasnt a te or rb over there helping? Did nuss know he was gone and wanted to lose? Why no adjustments to counter? Nuss was shite at adjustments in game.

This. We just never seemed to figure out how to play call against it. I'm not sure if it was Nuss just being stubborn or what, but he did not seem willing to make the adjustment.

Thankfully our QB (either Sims or Coker) has a lot more mobility than AJ did.
