Wonder if their going to start Marcus and Lewis against a more run heavy team like UGA?

Holloman over Lewis is surprising, but it might be because he is better in pass coverage than Lewis.

I'm really surprised B. Stadnick isn't in the 2 deep and that Cody Gibson is above Drew Owens at TE.

I'm not that shocked about Gibson. He's the blocking TE on this team. He should get more PT than Owens who I would imagine is third behind Buster and Adams if we want a receiving TE out there.

Owens has been here forever though. I'd like to see him get some PT.

Also kinda surprised they've got Cooper at both PR and KR. I doubt that lasts all season

I wish it said who will be the starting BOB; since we will be in the 3-4 a good amount of time.

Last I heard it was BAW.

ETA: And I don't know how much we're actually going to mix the 3-4 in. I think the 4-2-5 is still going to be the base D. Probably play it by ear. If we're getting pressure with our ends then I don't think we'll use it too much. If they are struggling then we'd probably switch to get more guys in the backfield.

Brock has been dealing with a knee injury and missed a lot of practice. That's probably why he's missing from the depth chart. He's been Cann's primary backup at LG for a while now...

Forgot about that. I only occasionally read the injury reports

Byrd and Kaiwan Lewis are the two omissions that shocked me the most.

I know it's never a good thing to be forced to shuffle your O-line around for an injury, but i like Stadnik at C and Waldrop at G. Stadnik had 7 starts at center last year and Waldrop has always been a more natural guard. I think it works out well.

Can't believe the season is almost here!

Byrd and several of those receives know several positions, so that whole depth chart for them will play differently through the year. .

I think Byrd is going to be placed all over the field like an "X" factor. We may at times see both Roland and Byrd on plays at the same time...

Reportedly, Holloman has shown to be proven better in pass coverage than Lewis has been, so him starting while playing a pass-intensive offense makes sense to me. In either case (Lewis & Byrd) they all will be rotated often in the games, and get extensive playing time.

I really like the depth at all 3 defensive positions, however the depth at DB is pretty thin in experience, even though we'll have McWilliams rotating in and that will help stabilize the CBs. The safety positions IMO should be relatively strong and deep in experience, with Marcus and Gurley in the 2-deep.

Only thing left now to do, is play the games....

So are we redshirting Taylor Stallworth? I heard the coaches were on the fence with him RS'ing this year.

Walton just overtook Moore for starting at LB. Coach Ward announced it tonight.

Moore missed some training/treatment appointments for an injury that nobody has really talked about, so Walton was moved up. I think Moore is healthy though and plan on him to play.

OK, this move doesn't make any sense to me. I figured Holloman and Moody were getting the start for their coverage ability... but Skai? He was our best in coverage last year.

Coach Ward basically said that Moore had an injury, he missed some appointments with the trainers, so as a result of his missed appointments with the trainers, he's not going to start.

Coach Ward is in 100% No bullshite Mode right now, I guess. I'm excited to see how this motivates both Walton and Moore even further. We're going to get solid production from a bunch of the LB's, we are pretty damn stacked at that position this year.
