Does the SEC cheat more than other conferences?

I was talking to a college football fan, and former player, from Southern California recently. He said that he thought the SEC was the dirtiest conference by a wide margin, including paying players and recruits, academic eligibility, hiding player misconduct, etc. I pay closer attention to the SEC than other conferences, so I don't really know if that's true or not.
Cheating seems fairly common, because the NCAA is either unwilling or unable to enforce the rules. Probably the worst known example, IMO, is what took place at Penn State over a 10 year period, where they covered up (at least it looks that way) an ugly criminal act. But, the SEC definitely has its fair share of suspicious indications. How would you rank this by conference?

No we just cheat with more money.

Auburn does. The rest
There will always be $100 handshakes. You can't prevent that. But to hire a bagman and make a highly organized machine of it like the Aubbies do is probably a lot more rare.

I think Auburn cheats enough that it just makes the entire conference seem dirty.

Bert eats, Gus cheats, Saban defeats.

As long as Alabama exists (as a state).....there will be cheating in the SEC. #DWI

The SEC is better at it. No head coaches writing university checks to handlers.

Interestingly enough, he did mention Auburn and Mississippi State as examples, but he said they were representative, not exceptions.

i OU, FSU, Peen St, and Miama U all do their part to keep up the cheating and or cover ups of worse than cheating.
Of course the SECEnvy will make us the focus of more of the hata's hate,,
hata's gotta hate.. right?

Yes, of course. Our honor is at stake.

I think plenty of cheating is going on in the SEC, but to say its substantially worse than the Big 12 or top half of the ACC seems like a stretch.

I san there are players at UNC who can't read, players at Miami who are getting abortions payed for by boosters, Players at Florida raping people and robbing Publix (on that was the same guy?)
ACC is probably up there.
ACC is probably up there.

I can say one difference is the mid to lower level SEC teams are spending money on players for 4-6 wins a year. IMO this is not happening as much in other conferences. Nobody who is winning is clean in any conference.
In general this is about boosters. It is fair to say SEC boosters are more organized as a whole.

Pretty incredible and ironic coming from a former Southern Cal player but he's probably correct. Academic standards are definitely lower for some SEC institutions and the collective no. of NCAA violations among SEC teams is impressive.

There's no such thing as "cheating more." You're either cheating, or you're not. If you're cheating, but someone else is out-cheating you, that's your problem. "Cheating less" doesn't make you more respectable.

They all cheat. USC probably more than any other.....okokok...maybe Ohio State.
