I think more americans should stand up for their fellow citizen when cops are abusing their power when arresting a citizen. Most of the time, I would say that the guy being arrested deserves it, but there are plenty of examples out there when they take it too far and the person being arrested is being abused for no reason.

We as citizens should stand up to these cops and here is a good video of that happening (not in the usa).

For comparison, here is a cop punching a handicapped woman in the face.

You can still stand down and get shot or killed. Plenty examples of this out there.

I get standing up to abuse, but when that crowd stars beating the cops/guards how is that better?

It isn't and I never said it was better. The cop that got fricked up wasn't even the one that was hitting the guy w/ the baton. The cop that was using the baton got the frick out of their.

Had a buddy Friday night get kicked out of a bar and the cop pushed him down the stairs. He was arrested for assaulting a police officer.. He was drunk and slapped a girls arse and that's the reason he was kicked out

I had a friend get sexually assaulted by a cop before, but her somewhat abusive ex-husband was a cop, and she was afraid to report it.

We're going to have to do this through our lawmakers and bring pressure on depts. Standing up when we see it is a 50/50 chance we get abused and arrested too and while a crowd can shame an abusive officer sometimes they don't care. Record it, go to the news, raise holy hell until everyone knows about what happened and we have to be the ones to do that as witnesses because no one believes the guy getting abused (everyone assumes he/she did something to deserve it) and most of all demand police reform and demilitarization.

Police are local organizations. They respond to local pressure when applied correctly. Elect city and county officials who will hold them accountable.

Again, enlighten me. If there are so many instances of people not harassing the cops being gunned down, provide them.
