Mainly asking LSU fans. Who do y'all think is better? Robinson had some impressive stretches last year (shutting down Evans), but I think White was more consistent.

No question Robinson. He was elite by the middle-late part of last year. White is good, but he isnt the athlete Robinson is.

Robinson got into camp late right when the season started, weighed around 165 lbs., and made Mike Evans look like a Jr. high player. He was starting by the end of the year.

He is bigger, stronger, and more experienced. He is aggressive as a corner can be.

Tre'Davious White was a 5 star CB who started as a true freshman last year. It is pretty amazing when you think that LSU had TWO true freshman starting at CB by the end of the year last year when the defense was playing its best.

RR is more aggressive but Tre White is going to be amazing this year too. Could LSU have TWO shutdown corners to go along with great safety play (watch Jamal Adams. He'll be starting by midseason)?

RR is the better athlete IMO

But I also think Tre has just as much potential to be the next big thing

Very glad to have them both. Together they turned Mills into a safety and J Collins into a back up.

White is currently better. Robinson has the higher ceiling due to his athleticism and frame. Collins could start ahead of Robinson, but we play with 5 DB's like 60 percent of the time so it doesn't really matter.

I was watching the news here in Lafayette the other day and the sports anchor refered to ULL as DBU. I almost spit my drink out at the TV.

Bama sort of has a similar situation. TB/Hump are both extremely talented, and it looked like TB would start, but Cyrus Jones and Bradley Sylve have had good camps. Also there is word that Brown gets too frustrated when he messed up (similar to how Dre K used to) and that's the only thing holding him back. I'd personally like to see them both getting on the field eventually to give us long term stability at the position. Plus Eddie Jackson would probably be starting over Sylve if he was 100%.

So who will be LSU's Safeties?

Tre' white. He's the better athlete as well (not sure how you can argue that Robinson is the better athlete). Robinson had some real success with press coverage and is solid as well. White is also the better tackler. Honestly, they can both hold their own in coverage. I think you could make an argument for either to be top 5 corners in the SEC. Hargreaves is the best though.

Jefferson and Mills will be the starters. Martin, Thompson and Jamal Adams will all be rotated in. Our other TF, Battle, will see some PT this season too. IMO safety is the deepest position group on the team with both experience and talent.

Robinson has a much higher ceiling due to his length, and played better at the end of year. As you said though, T White was new consistent and played more often. Looking to see what both can do after an entire off-season, mainly Robinson who weighed like 170 soaking wet at this point last year.

Safeties will be Mills and probably Martin, but I don't expect Martin to keep that spot because Thompson is better and personally I think 2 of the best safeties on this team are Jefferson and Jamal Adams.

Where LSU struggled against Bama last year (outside stopping the run) was not on the outside, but that they picked on Mills in the nickle spot and used the TE as a mismatch over all our LBs and Safeties... I think this year, we will have more success because we will havebetter safety play, and hopefully more athletic LBs. Also, Mills is no longer in the nickle. If Ed Paris can be as good as advertised, then that will go a long way, but if not then Dwayne Thomas or Jalen Collins has to improve their covering abilities.

All I can say is 2 things:
You better expect to run the ball a lot against our team this year, and thank the lord Kevin Norwood is gone

It's like comparing Richard Sherman and PP21...two completely playing styles. They are asked to do different things within the system as well.

Here's to the Tigers having the Seahwks version of a secondary in the SEC.
