He started his college career at USC and just got pegged as Wisconsin's starter in the opener against us.
I've heard he is a big boy (6''4") and athletic. Can he throw? Is he accurate? Smart? Etc.

Well didn't Wisconsin move him to safety last year after fall camp?

They were going to play him at WR but an early injury forced him to switch to Safety for the rest of the year last year. So basically a guy playing safety for the majority of the year is now their QB.

Nick Marshall has done well for himself.
Can the guy throw at all?

They will have a near miraculous season, only to lose to FSU in the title game. Have no fear though, LSU fans, a stiff dew will propel your team to victory.

Apparently not. He couldn't beat out the nosovitch kid at QB. Who is now a TE or something.

He beat a 2 yr returning starter for the position. It definitely adds a little twist to what LSU has to prepare for with his mobility.

He's listed at 6'6" so I guess he's probably closer to 6'5". I was initially pretty excited to have him on the team as the heir to Shaw, because of his height and athleticism. However if he had stayed in USC he'd probably be 3rd string at best this year. He played a lot of WR in high school before playing QB and was recruited by some schools as a WR. He's got pretty good speed (4.6 40 I think) so he can scramble if he needs to. If I remember correctly he played well in the 2012 spring game but sometimes showed an awkward throwing motion.

Good athlete, loves weed.

Last I remember he got popped for dui or driving under the influence of 1 beer, then transferred after being buried on the depth chart for a few years.

He has played both S and WR in college as well as QB. So he is athletic and has wheels. At 6'6" he is a big one as well. Unorthodox throwing motion, but gets the ball where it is intended. Will be a running threat obviously. LSU D will probably confuse him a bunch in his 1st start, but Wiscy relies on power run game, so that will open up chances for him to throw. The Badger run game is their bread and butter and they will run effectively even vs. LSU.

The r/cfb article yesterday was talking about how McEvoy playing over Stave was a mark in a pretty big change in Badger philosophy. Gonna be a lot of running. Honestly, I can see Wiscy pulling the upset.

I still can't believe Wisc had a 6'6 safety last year

And that's what got him in trouble here at SC.
He left because he was asked to leave after he lied to Spurrier.
He was on his way home from a visit up north and got pulled in NC for having an open container.
Got a ticket and was released.
Not a big deal - Spurrier defended him because he took the breathalyzer at the stop and passed well under the legal limit. But Spurrier asked him if he should expect any surprises before he went to bat for him against the media ... and McEvoy told him no, he had only had a couple of beers on the ride after his going-away party.
It's SOP at most SEC programs that if you get a ticket or are cited for anything, you undergo a blood test within 24 hrs of the violation. And when McEvoy's results came back he had a high level of THC in his system ... bang, Spurrier lit him up. McEvoy copped an attitude and later, one of the assistants visited him and told him he might want to consider transferring - that he couldn't be trusted any longer.
He's a good athlete, and he has a strong arm but he never would have been a QB at SC because he has this weird throwing motion and delivery that lends itself to the ball sailing when he tries to put any zip on the ball.
So I suspect, if LSU can get any pressure on him, he's gonna air mail a couple of balls and if the safeties are in position they should be able to pick a couple of those while playing center field.

It means LSU will win the game.
