Let's say Roper gives our offense a heartbeat, Roper will have a head coaching job within the next two seasons.
Then we're left looking for another great OC which are hard to come by.

This process will repeat because Muschamp can't even spell offense.

We're left relying on hiring good OC's which isn't good for recruiting.

It's much easier to hire DC after DC, and have an offensive minded - coach.

I can't sit through another miserable season, but if it means we can give Boom the boot and save ourselves from diving into mediocracy, I'm all for it.

I hope we win 7 games and hire Chad Morris, or Kliff Kingsbury

I hope we win all our games and give Muschamp a big fat raise. If stupid arse Les Miles can figure out how to get coordinators, so can Muschamp.

Quirky? Yes. Stupid? Hardly. They don't hand out Economics degrees at Michigan.

Merlins will probably need a job by then.

Our plant, AgentBoom, will find a way to stick around as long as needed. He accidentally hired a good OC..when Roper leaves he won't make that mistake again.

I like Muschamp and I think y'all will be a lot better this year. Once he gets offense rolling it will be easier to hire a good OC. Hell we have had about three or four under Sabanand we have done ok.

I wonder if he could solve some complex economics problems.

The OC replacement and the being stuck with a Mark Richt type coach is my big fear with Boom, way, way worse than if he just sucks and we replace him.

The Saban OC thing would worked if Boom had stayed with Ball control but he's dramatically shifted course to a HUNH spread option attack and frankly I don't think he has any long term offensive plan whatsoever.

Alabama has a defensive minded head coach and they're on their 4th offensive coordinator in eight years.

During the previous 7 years, under three different OCs they've won three BCS titles and had multiple recruiting classes ranked #1 by various services.

If you suck, it won't be due to revolving OCs.

I was going to raise this point to OP.

Also how is having a defensive head coach and having to hire OCs every few years inferior to having an offensive minded coach and hiring DCs every few years?

The key is finding good coordinators that stick around or having protégées underneath them so you don't have to change much when they leave.

If Roper is as good as we hope he is, and he is hired as the head coach at another program, at least Muschamp has an idea of what he wants in an offensive coordinator and what is successful. This will lead to better hires down the road and recruiting more athletes that want to come and join a productive offense. The key is if Roper can be as good as we all hope. I sure hope so

As long as Muschamp is there the defense will carry Florida, you don't need a stellar offense. Didn't your starting QB get injured last year?

LSU went 11-2 with fricking Gary Crowton as OC who led an offense that ranked dead last in the SEC in passing for two years in a row.

Our starter AND our back up. Our back up (Tyler Murphy) was injured against LSU and transferred after the season to Boston College
