Very cool article from ESPN on Jared Lorenzen and how he has struggled with his weight:

He never beat UGA but holy shite he abused us. 528yds & a coupla TD's throwing & 1 rushing in 2000. In 2001 he threw for a lil over 400 & rushed for around 65 with 2-3 more TD's. He threw 112 passes for over 900yds in those 2 games ... props to him...

Ill always remember Pollack riding on his back and him still completing a pass. Also the time he threw a completion right handed.

I just hope this isn't one of those "ironic" articles that will be brought up after he dies young of a heart attack. He seems like a really good guy, so I'm pulling for him to get over the hump and live a long and happy life.

Fantastic article. He would be excellent for an SEC Network documentary. He was so good with such a horrible body that you really have to wonder what his ceiling was if he could have gotten in shape.

I remember when the throwboy came into Williams brice one night. he was a big crazy mofo. he was frickin with the crowd and goin back and forth , he lost but was entertaining. always kinda liked him after that. big boy didnt take any shite and wasn't intimidated by 85 thousand frickers riding him. he was taunting the crowd after Kentucky first downs and shite. I'd party with him.

Still, most colleges were just interested in him for his body. Ohio State recruited him as a defensive end. Purdue saw him as an offensive lineman. "I'd rather watch grass grow than watch Big Ten football," he says.
