If Auburn loses to Arkansas, can they still make the playoffs?

If Auburn drops that first game against Arkansas, do you think they could rattle off 11 straight wins and squeak into the playoff? I say if they win the SEC, even with one loss they will get into the final 4.

If we run the table and face an east team that is undefeated and probably top 7 or so, I could see it.

Yes Auburn would make it. That would be assuming we win the SEC championship. 11-1 sec champions would make it every year.
ETA:I think i am looking at this too much as the old system. I have no clue how this whole committee thing is going to shake out. I will leave my initial comment, but i could be way off

If we are so bad as to lose to Arky, we will be lucky to win 7 games, so no.
UNLESS....
Arky is this year's TEAM Of DESTINY, in which case THEY will be the SEC team in the playoffs, so no again.

Most seasons I would agree, but the anti-SEC movement is gaining momentum, especially with our lucrative new network that everyone is jealous of.
I saw a numbers never lie segment on Sportscenter today, they said the top 5 teams in the PAC 12 had a better FPI (whatever that is) than the top 5 teams in the SEC. It was a difference of one tenth of a point, but they used that to argue that the PAC 12 was going to be the better conference this year.

Depends on how many wins Arkansas has really. If they lose to Arkansas, people will start to question how fluky the wins were last year, especially those that came in less than 7 points:
- Washington State
- Mississippi State
- A&M
- Georgia
I mean they could have easily lost those games with a fluke play here and there.
If Arkansas starts winning, then people will question it less, but I would say it's doubtful.
