quote:

"Improvement would obviously be nice, but at the same time — and this is a big shock (to) people — wins and losses next year aren't going to determine whether I go to UK or not," Harris told The Courier-Journal this week. "If they win 10 games, that'll sit the same way with me as if they win four or five.

"The win-loss column isn't going to determine much. It's just how much I grow with the coaching staff, the players, the environment the next couple months. That'll be the ultimate deciding factor."

quote:

"I'd definitely say it's obvious that UK is recruiting me harder than anybody (among the final five) based on the fact that Coach Stoops tells me his main objective is to not let great talent leave the state of Kentucky," Harris said. "In the past, when the program hasn't been that good, great players in the state have gone elsewhere in Ohio, Florida, Alabama, wherever they could. But now (the Cats') big focus is to try to keep in-state talent, keep players home, so that way they don't have to go far from their families and things like that."

quote:

"Being that I'm basically a Kentucky boy born and raised here and growing up here my entire life and I'm only 25 minutes away from the campus, people think of it that it's only right that I try to be a hometown hero."

quote:

"I've grown really close with every coach on the coaching staff, not just Coach Stoops or not just (running backs) coach (Chad) Scott but all the coaches. Even the defensive coaches or special teams, it really doesn't matter. I'm really close with all of them and really close with a lot of the players. So I definitely think it would bring a lot of joy to the program. It would bring a lot of joy to myself perhaps if I were to pick Kentucky. But we'll just have to wait and see."

He kind of randomly named us in his top 5. I'd guess there's a less than zero percent chance he actually signs with so it would be nice to see him stay in Kentucky

That's what everyone said about Matt Elam too.

It'll come down to tOSU and UK for Harris.

He may. He may not. We'll both have to wait and see.

Y'all haven't been very successful in recruiting against Kentucky.

Just let that sink in. Kentucky has been out recruiting Ohio State head to head.

The only one that I can think of is Ryan Timmons. We haven't had any other head to head battles with them that I can think of.

If we can beat out Alabama for an in state kid, there's no reason that we can't beat out Ohio State for one.

Apparently he really hit is off with the Aggie commits at The Opening and is going to take a visit to CS. Not holding my breath but right now A&M has 3 Jr's in the Top 3 at RB so there is going to be opportunity and Sumlin's offense is a lot of fun to play in.

That said, I think he is going UK.

Yea...no

Kentucky is doing work and stealing some good quality kids who otherwise would be playing at Iowa/Wisky/MSU/Indiana/Purdue etc. to come down to the SEC and play at Kentucky. There have been may be handful of kids who legit have picked Kentucky over OSU, but many of them don't have offers to OSU that end up down south a bit.

I think Harris comes to OSU, but I would be ok if he stayed at Kentucky.

He has been talking a lot of Head vs. Heart. His head is telling him to try and win titles at OSU, while his heart is rightfully in his home state with his family and close friends

A&M probably has a better chance of getting him than osu if he goes out of state.

Would get to stay in the SEC and Sumlin just had a Taj Mahal built for his players. That's why he reached out to A&M to get a visit.

How do you know that's why he reached out to A&M?

Also how do you even know he reached out to A&M?

Also why would he go to A&M over Alabama given just the criteria you listed for why he would choose A&M?

If the reasoning for the first part is solely because of the second part, that's a pretty big reach.

Pretty sure we also got some good Florida running back coming in for the Rice game. Gonna be a pivotal weekend.

Following the opening after hitting it off with Aggie recruits, he called them. Rivals, 247, and TexAgs have no reason to lie about that.
