Which is a worse situation to be in?

Being a fan of a team that used to be good but has recently been, and for the foreseeable future will continue to be terrible?
Or being a fan of a team that's always been awful?
I've gotta think the first one. As an analogy, the Great Depression probably sucked much less for people who had always been poor. No flame, but I'm particularly interested in what Tennessee fans and Ole Miss fans have to say (for obvious reasons).

Response thread to a UT poster.

I see what you're saying-- and I guess to clarify, I'm interested in comparing how it feels in this instant, and not how they've felt over the course of their entire fandom.

What makes you think this is a response thread?

Two threads by you about irrelevant UT and lunch isn't even over yet.
And we are the obsessed fan base.

UT would be worse. Ole Miss gets creamed in a small stadium and it barely makes the highlights.
UT gets creamed in a massive stadium and you get to watch clips of your ineptness all year.
That said, being Ole Miss, or SMU or some team like that just won't ever get beyond an occasional upset is bad too. I can't imagine getting very jacked up to tailgate knowing that there is no hope.

You know it's been a successful off season when Bama posters are making response threads to Ole Miss and UT.

I'ld agree with the 1st scenario. You'll never live down the "WHY aren't you as good as ___insert year(s) here_____?" The other is something you've never experienced a good season, so people don't harp about it/you as much.
