We all know it's inevitable. I say after two more seasons of not being able to keep within 4 TD's of Bama, Vols begin murmuring that Butch rode Brian Kelly's coat tails into what used to be a destination job. After another season, BigVolDaddy will start defiling Butch Jones memorabilia with fire and moonshine saturated piss. The following year they'll be talking about having Kiffin return to save the program, but that-- just like Gruden-- will be but a pipe dream.

A bad year this year and only a so-so (7-5 or less) 2015 with no real signs of improvement I think gets him shown the door.

No way they want to go into that game against VT in Bristol with a coach having only marginal success (if you can call that) and no real improvement.

2 more sub .500 seasons and I think he'll get the boot. Might be longer though as UT has recently become accustomed to losing.

I think he gets a free pass this season and next season needs to start showing results.

The next coach could really be walking into a sweet situation with the way Butch has been recruiting as of late.

UT fans loved Dooley until midway through 2012

They were in love with him for making a bowl in 2010

Got a pass in 2011

But were back in love after beating NC State in 2012

although they have a really tough schedule year in and year out, and he is recruiting at a very high level if he does as bad as he did last season this year and next year only gets 6 or 7 wins hes out

2015 will be the year we should see a major improvement on the field. I've said that for awhile now and most realistic UT fans should agree.

The amount of roster turnover since Butch stepped in has been nothing short of phenomenal. Since spring practice of 2013, Butch has flipped 66 roster spots, which I would imagine is the most in the country. And as long as he keeps recruiting like he is, that will buy him time.

What a dumb post. The fans really started turning on Dooley when he lost to Kentucky in 2011.
Hell, his entire staff jumped ship that offseason because his seat was boiling hot.

I'll admit that after the NC state game, I thought that team could maybe win 8 or 9 games in spite of Dooley but I was completely 100% done with him after the Florida meltdown in 2012, as was a large marjority of the fanbase.

Butch Jones isn't going to feel the embers from the hot seat unless he under performs in 2015. Not with the roster that he inherited.

Sorry this wasn't the answer you were looking for.

Nah. Doolittle got a pass in 2011 until he lost to QB-less UK team. We knew then he'd never get it done.
We thought we may win 8 in 2012 with all the NFL talent we had, but that was a disaster.

At least Butch has won at his previous stops

With 5* talent he's bringing in and his track record as a HC, it'd be hard not win 9 or maybe 10 games a season Mark Richt style. It'd take really shitty coach to squander all that talent.

But the real question is can he take it to the next level and consistently compete for conference title year in, year out? That's something Fulmer couldn't do after 2001.

I want him to.

Last thing I want is the guy who can't get past 5 wins to leave good ol' Rocky Top.

The Vols will have their 5th losing season in a row. They haven't been to a bowl since 2010. Butch will be on the hot seat in December. JMHO.

Butch Jones is a decent coach that has benefited from coaching after Bryan Kelly at two stops against pretty weak schedules.

Since he took over at Cincinnati, a team, BTW that finished 12-1 the year before he took over, he is 10-19 vs. teams with a winning record.

That does not scream championship caliber coach to me.
