https://greatamericansportsnetwork.com/10-reasons-mizzou-will-repeat/I agree with most of that, but they pass over our lack of receiver depth as if it will be a non factor.

Maybe they'll surprise me, but USC doesn't scare me as much as UGA.

Thompson is just okay, they're hurt in the secondary, Mike Davis is fat, and idk just seems they lost the heart of their offense and defense.

That new QB at UGA is looking very legit, and those RB's, wow.

I think in a lot of positions we have really nice depth. Definitely defensive line, running back is solid with Hansbrough, Murphy, Steward, Witt etc, o-line even looks pretty salty. Got a lot of quality bodies on paper at least.

I agree with the link above and have picked Mizzou to win the East for months now.

I have no idea who will win it, but think it's foolish to not include Mizzou in the mix at this point.

I think all of the talk should be USCjr, UGA, and Mizzou with UF being the wild card for the East. Instead we have USCjr, UGA, and UF always mentioned with Mizzou thrown in every once in awhile. Oh well, can't wait for the games to start.

me too, but only because injuries come at such a fast n furious rate in the SEC.

I like what the Switzer kid did here, but he's off on a few of his main points.

1. Schedule.

Not the most important issue, but no Auburn, LSU, or Bama helps and the meat of the division comes early when we should still be healthy. The road series that closes it out is no picnic.

2. The Front Four.

Premature to overplay the front 4, they will be good no doubt, but more importantly they all have experience.

3. Coaching.

Talking up Pinkels' "winningest" and loyality are both misleading, winningest can just mean you've been around a long time and loyalty is double edged. Yost wasn't worth the loyalty and trust Pinkel put in him, if Henson pans out at least 1 of Gary's last 3 spotlight promotions will have panned out.

4. Quarterback Play.

Good area for this team and looks to be deep, another area that coaching has not always been kind for Mizzou but recruiting seems to make up for it.

5. Depth.

Crux of the biscuit here. The depth is key in the area of the Lines. With 3 of 5 and 2 of 4 returning starters over half of the returning 8 starters are on the lines.

Further there seems to be a lot of depth in talent and readiness on both Offense and Defensive lines, if coaching loyality has paid off anywhere it's with Kuligowski and Ivey, the keys to the best positional development at Mizzou.

There is also a tremendous amount of experience in a number of skill positions, QB and RB and even in the defensive backfield.

Even with a healthy Franklin and Mauk we probably have a better set of QB's than since both Chase Daniel and Patton were on the team. Hansbrough and Murphy, Sasser, Hunt and White, on D, Golden and Ray, Brothers, Newsome, Penton and Singleton. None of these guys carry the returning starter tag but all were key to the success of last season.

The Tigers boast one of the best defensive lines in college football which will be detrimental to the overall state of the defense.

Huh?

What did you expect? It was reasons Mizzou WOULD win the east. Your worry would appear under reasons why Mizzou would NOT win the east.

It has been wild.

Just got off the phone with my brother. We kept saying the same thing.

Defense wins championships. Can't wait for next week.
