LINK

This game is probably #2 on the list of greatest SEC Championship Games. It was the first one played in Atlanta and featured #3 Alabama and #6 Florida.

Florida would win the game by a score of 24-23 and Alabama fans still question Stallings's decision to kick the extra point instead of going for two after the pick six that put Alabama up 23-17 mid-way through the 4th quarter.

With a #3 ranking, this would be the last time Alabama would be ranked that high in the AP Poll until 2008.

Weren't y'all ranked #3 in the 2000 pre-season AP poll?

That didn't last very long, though.

Alabama was #3 in the 2000 preseason AP poll.

I believe #6 going into the 2000 Orange Bowl.

Alabama was ranked in the top ten late in 2002.

Alabama was #3 late in 2005.

When did Barker get hurt in that game? I think I've blocked that whole game out of my memory.

He didn't get hurt in the game. He played the whole game and played very well. There was something of a duel between him and Danny Weurffel. In the end it came down to Florida making one more play than Alabama.

It's SEC related as it involves:

a) Another SEC team
b) An Alabama loss
