From what I've read, I'd agree with that statement. However, the story is still pretty new. If it was SBC I wander if it was some kind of justified martyrdom from the mind of the knife wielding fellow.

I think all cops should have to go through a pigment change. Something like hot pink. Then no one could really be upset when the cop does his job and incidentally kills someone that is a race different than his own.
