It was Gilliam's choice not to have surgery. He's a 5th year former walk-on that just got put on scholarship before the season.

Once your acl is torn the damage is done. Putting off surgery til the end of the season is legit. Torn can mean partially and if it can be stabilized with a brace he is good to go.

He isn't starting the true freshman RT Coleman Thomas that took over for Gillam was hurt in the first half then Gilliam came in due to our non-existant depth.
Marcus Jackson got hurt too and that's when shite really hit the fan.

Calling it a dumpster fire isn't near appropriate enough at this point.

At least Thomas will benefit from early playing time. I didn't realize UT had started a true freshman at RT. Y'all seem to have a lot of young contributors across the offensive line. How many lineman are y'all redshirting?
