It's called 'syllabus day', it's how shite works now.

That's my usual strategy. There's always that one fagatron of a professor who starts handing out assignments on day 1 and makes you look like a dipshit when you show up for next class with nothing.

If it was a big lecture class I would typically check to see if it was up online the night before the first day and see what they had scheduled. If it looked like a BS syllabus day then I wouldn't go. Smaller classes I always went though

Same boat here. 28 and started AU today. I had gotten my associates in the military, then decided I wanted to "work" for a living. Five years of home construction later, I am back in college free of charge. If that makes me a loser, so be it.

I have enough benefits to get a degree in System Security and Network Administration. Security is my main focus right now though.

i work in security currently. mainly cisco competitors, but i install firewalls, web filters, IPS stuff.
