Tennessee is one of few teams that has never lost more than seven games in the history of their program. Their schedule this year sets up nicely for an historic year for the Tennessee Vols.

Sunday Aug. 31 vs. Utah State Aggies Tossup
Sept. 6 vs. Arkansas State Red Wolves W
Sept. 13 at Oklahoma Sooners L
Sept. 27 at Georgia Bulldogs L
Oct. 4 vs. Florida Gators L
Oct. 11 vs. Chattanooga Mocs W
Oct. 18 at Ole Miss Rebels L
Oct. 25 vs. Alabama Crimson Tide L
Nov. 1 at South Carolina Gamecocks L
Nov. 15 vs. Kentucky Wildcats W
Nov. 22 vs. Missouri Tigers L
Nov. 29 at Vanderbilt Commodores Tossup

I think they split the tossups.

My prediction is based on them having no returning starters on both lines, a meh quarterback, and a head coach who hasn't proven that he can utilize the talent that UT has on roster. Brick by brick.

I want to agree but I think they'll win those toss ups and upset the Tide.

It is certainly possible, but a few breaks go their way and they could go 8-4.

I think the certain losses are Oklahoma and Bama, with likely losses to Georgia and SC. However they played UGA close and beat Spurrier last year.

No one really knows what Florida could be this year - they could be Florida or they could be bad. The rest of the schedule is manageable, especially if they can grind out wins in the first two games and the lines gel a bit.

I'm looking forward to making the streak a decade old.

Yes, that would be "historic".

So you are saying the road to a lot of wins historically is to schedule KY and Vandy every year, plus three cup cakes, and then you only need one real win most years to be bowl eligible? (Franklin era at Vandy excepted)

Are you sure Arkansas St. is a definite W?

They were a bowl team last year. Think they won 9. Even our cupcakes aren't cupcakes.

There is a reason our schedule is rated one of if not the toughest in the country.

You're giving too much credit. VOLS will be lucky to squeak by Chattanooga.

I wish we could've gotten an elite transfer like Coker. You know many people say he should've started at FSU.

Yep. And that schedule, even with our depth and oline/dline issues, is the main reason we're looking at 6 wins this year as a baseline for the rebuild and anything more that as icing.

Man. that is a butt ugly schedule for a young team. Having said that, I wouldnt be surprised if the Vols dont beat somebody they arent supposed to this year.

What makes this double ugly is the number of ranked teams on the road.
