I don't know if it would ever go that far but I do think it could get to the point of the US needing to break into smaller countries. Also maybe something to similar to Northern Ireland and ireland

I say we break in to fifty smaller states and let a controlled federal government handle shite like national defense, international treaties, and such. It seems like a wonderful idea.
