Im always surprised the body wouldnt reject the fluid after, say, gallon #2, whenever i hear about overhydration.

Relatives say the youth complained of cramping during football practice on Tuesday at Douglas County High School, west of Atlanta. Aunt Tammy Chavis says the teen drank two gallons of water and two more gallons of Gatorade.

I try and get a gallon or so down in a day and that's tougher than you think but 4 gallons say in an hour is insane seems he would have spewed at some point.

Very sad for him and the family.

I hauled hay as a teenager for a family farm in North Georgia one summer a thousand years ago and that old fricker wouldn't let us have any water when we were working, said it ruined a man with his grapes of wraith mindset.

I would still like to shoot that old bastard...

Sorry about the kid an authority figure should have caught that he was drinking way too much and cut him off.

I think it was over a long period of time. I think he was drinking throughout the school day to hydrate for practice. He drank enough that it started the cramping during practice and he drank even more because they probably thought he hadn't hydrated enough and that's why he was cramping. And then he went home and drank some more. I think it was at least 5-6 hours.

We (McEahern) used to have some tight games with DC back in the mid 80s. My junior year we barely beat them in the Region 5AAAA championship game. I had to block Norman Cowins all night and that was probably the toughest assignment of my HS career.
