Not to take away from a person taking responsibility for how they act, but how they were raised plays a large part in how they act. You see it all the time in people. They're a screw up as an adult because they were raised poorly.

So what are some ways that people are raised poorly?

No disciplinary actions for things generally unacceptable in society.

No interest in parents being responsible for their kids.

No interest in parents teaching kids outside of school.

Poorly, I gather. That one was easy, I'm so good at these tests.

They're raised masturbating on the steps of a church while school buses of kids watch.

No structure
Little accountability
Allowed to eat what they want, when they want
Low academic expectations
Poor social skills
Parent(s) spend little time with them.

On the other hand, being too strict can be just as bad as being too lax.

Agreed.

Kids who think they are responsible for everything bad in their life and kids who think they are responsible for nothing bad in their life seem to be the issue.

Somewhere in the middle usually turn out ok.

I may royally screw up my kids before it's all said and done, but I want them to leave my house knowing they and they alone are responsible for their actions and that every person that they come across deserves respect and kindness until they prove otherwise.

Discussion with wife recently, we came to conclusion alot is genetic.

She is oldest with a little sister and a little brother, all raised the same.

One is an alkie drifter, arrested several times, one would be an alkie drifter except for pussy control and has also been to jail, and the other is a medical student married to a succesful business man.

There's generally four kinds of parents.

1) Super controlling parents who want to control everything involving their children. Kids of these parents tend to "wild out" when they move out just because they've lived under a rock.

2) Parents who flat out don't give a shite and are using their kids for a check. There is an alarmingly growing rate of there folks. Kids of these parents tends to end up running the streets, are often coming from an abusive home, etc.

3) Parents who are complete enablers. Their kids can be huge pieces of shite but they're their little angels and NO ONE better accuse them of any wrong doing. These kids may be better off then #2 financially, but they can end up being worthless because they've never been told no.

4) The average parent who may make some mistakes but for the large part is a good parent who provides for their kids, is involved in their life (but knows when to put on the breaks), and just hopes with fingers crossed they did alright.

Unfortunately it's starting to feel like 1-3 outnumbers 4 these days.

The worst kind imo
