I'm looking for an EPL team to support. Here are my requirements:

1. The team must frequently be described as "blue collar." Bonus points if it comes from an impoverished location. Extra points if the impoverished location has a rival team that fancies itself as socially elite.

2. The team must be perennially be dubbed a "dark horse" by various media outlets. the team must then show occasional signs of brilliance, leaving me with great hope, but then collapsing disastrously. Frequent moral victories are a must. Despite beginning the season as a dark horse contender, the team must just barely avoid relegation.

3. The team should have a young coach with a good pedigree who regularly discusses "doing things the right way" but then makes tragically boneheaded decisions, stubbornly refuses to make obviously necessary changes, or surrenders in the face of adversity.

4. The team should have a few talented players, enough to sustain fond hopes, who then fall to injury, revealing immense holes in the depth chart.

Any suggestions?

Go to soccer board on tigerdroppings. They have lots of threads like this to help you.

You'll want to pick a team that is constantly fighting relegation to give you that real MSU experience.

I read Everton is a good one to follow if you're just getting into it. Exciting team that's usually an underdog. Plus they have Tim Howard.

Yes they do...so Grind On!

Also, have a very dedicated hooligan element that makes Bama fans look sedate by comparison.

You may have had too much free time in the offseason. In Merica we play football with an oblong ball. In the SEC we play college football.

Was this seriously moved to the Off-Topic Board? For a site filled (presumably) with college-educated folks, there is a surprising lack of reading comprehension.
