FAU, Sou. Miss., and W. Carolina.

Anyone ever recall us having to do this to sell tickets? I don't. Wonder if those who already bought will be ticked off.

And dozens of entire rows are still for sale for the WVA game. That I am not surprised at. When I first saw the ticket prices, I didn't think we would sell out our allotment...now I'm sure we won't.

I guess that as long as they're happy with the bottom line, our AD doesn't care, but jeez. If it was Auburn offering $10 food credits with tickets, lots of Bama fans would be laughing their asses off. Is it a sign of the times, or are people fed up with investing large amounts of money and several hours of their Saturday to watch games like this? And yeah, I bought WVA tickets also...but there was no way I was going to buy the ones they wanted to sell me.

I know WVU isn't an exciting opponent. But seriously, what is going on? We've always traveled well. I better see every damn Bama seat filled.

$90 for endzone nosebleed seats, that's what. If you look at the seatfinder, you'll see that some sections have as many as a dozen rows with no tickets sold yet at all. I didn't count all the blue dots, but it looks like as many as 3,000 tickets still for sale. 3,000 tickets, two and a half weeks before kickoff.

I want to see us sell out every game too, but this one isn't on Bama fans. Intelligent fans can certainly disagree, but I'm not one bit impressed with this aspect of Bill Battle's stewardship of the program. There's always going to be a limit to what fans are willing to pay...and it looks like Battle may be hitting it.

It really is telling when you consider that no debut like Coker & Kiffin has been this eagerly anticipated in a helluva long time. I understand that Chick-Fil-A sets the prices...but Bill Battle and Oliver Luck signed the contracts.

Also, there's always been one premium ticket every year...perfectly understandable...but now suddenly the A&M game is on par with the Iron Bowl for $100 a pop? This A&M team? Did Bill Battle not notice that Manziel is wearing a Browns uniform now?

Pardon my rant...and it's not my first one about ticket prices...but these are things I haven't seen before. And it's just my opinion, but I don't think it's taking that aspect of the program in the right direction.

And you're in Tuscaloosa. If you're in Birmingham or beyond, factor in at least 10 hours of your day. For an SEC game, no problem. For a cupcake?

I'm talking about for our opener. You'd think everyone would be hyped to go support the team on the road to 16 after a disappointing finish.

Is Groupon going to come to the rescue?

And actually I agree with you 100%. The fact that you would think we would be hyped...combined with the added Coker/Kiffin factor...tells me that there is starting to be some pushback against rising ticket prices.

WVU isn't exactly a big draw for me personally. Make it a top 10 team and I'm there.

Not a bad point. This game at this venue is very much like a bowl game...only at the start of the season...but WVA was a crappy team last year and not bowl eligible. And most in the media pick them to be as bad or worse this year. Oliver Luck must have naked pictures of some Chick-Fil-A execs.

Great Points. Not to mention that while I'm a Bama fan, I'm also a big college football fan. Staying at home allows me to watch it all on my 60" HDTV. It's almost a no-brainer compared to nosebleeds in the Georgia Dome.

Add to the fact that we might play in ATL again, plus the playoff games which will be extremely pricey. IMO, universities are about to see the blowback from the rising prices + big TV deals. UA better get prepared.

Part of the problem is the number of big time games now. Just postseason games, we could have the SECCG, Semifinals, and the National Championship games.

Something has to give at some point. Looks like it will be a WV type game. It's not going to be season tickets or postseason games. For now at least.

If this marks the end of neutral site season openers and the beginning of more home and home series, I am all for it.

Agree. The ATL opener has obviously run it's course.

Yeah. There's no way I would be going to the game if my dad didn't already get buy tickets.

Quit scheduling shitty teams and this wouldn't be a problem.

With the big 5 autonomy there's going to be more and more talk of big 5 teams scheduling only other big 5 teams for OOC instead of these cupcakes which is something CNS has been publically calling for for awhile now.

Why would I spend face value on cupcake games when I can wait until ten minutes before kickoff and buy tickets from some Tide Pride member desperate to get rid of them for under twenty bucks a ticket?

If you want people to spend face value and above on tickets then schedule someone worth a shite. Until then I'll do what I've always done and buy them cheap right before kickoff.
