Everyone is talking about the freshman WR's getting a chance to get a lot of playing time but what about the DE position? If Golden or Ray go down we have NO ONE with any experience to step in. NOT ONE down of experience.

Brady, McWilliams, and Williams have a chance to earn some playing time. Go get you some !!!!

Well they did just say they are looking at getting Brantley in the game both on the inside and on the edge, and if Loud and Harris aren't as good as they're making it sound, we could move some other guys around, Augusta moves well for a big guy, I could see him working the edge as well.

Plus we are talking about D line which has consistently been one of our best developmental positions, Ivey and Kul are on the verge of making Mizzou D-line U.

Brantley could play some DE, do not think Augusta will though. Harris is one of the players I am most intrigued by this year.

Brady needs to make it to campus first to have a shot at anything.

No Golden and Ray had some experience. Very little. But at least Golden had JC experience. The RSFR or True FR have no JC or Varsity experience.

Golden was a LB in JuCo. He might have had less than 5 snaps at DE before last year. He made the move from LB to DE late in the season if not the offseason in 2012.

Don't Discount Loud and Harris. They are listed as twos, and so far, both look like they could be impact players, especially Harris, who has crazy athleticism and now weighs 245. Loud is 250. The coaches have said Harris is a year or more ahead of their developmental plan for him. Both are going to get major PT this year.

Williams and McWilliams are likely redshirts unless the injury bug bites us hard. You'll see Brantley at end before you see them. Our coaches development really benefits kids who redshirt, and absent something extraordinary in their performance or injuries in the next few weeks, neither will likely see the field this year.

If Charles Harris develops into a star DE it will be the greatest diamond in the rough find this Mizzou coaching staff has ever made, and obviously with their track record that's saying one heck of a lot. His story is amazing.

Gabe on PM today said Harris is legit, was in the backfield a ton in scrimmages and caught Gabe's eye more than even the starters did. Knock on wood.

Tru dat, and we have some other LB's,, (think Ruise/Beisel) who might step up and play DE.

That's exciting to think about for the next 4 seasons. Assuming he sticks around for that long from everything that's being said about him.

No way Beisel moves to DE. He is the best natural LB on the roster

you know who would have been a great middle line backer?

Marcus Golden.

We are going to be playing a lot of nickel in the future and the 2 LB's on the field will likely be guys who can cover a lot of territory.

I don't have a lot of confidence Beisel is going to be a great coverage LB in the SEC, he has nothing like the wheels of a Zavier Gooden. I could see him adding 10 pounds and doubling as a DE and part time MLB in the 4-3 and getting on the field a lot more. Seems like a kid who would rather play than stand on the sideline most of the game.

I assume you say that because he is white.

I say that because he looks slow.
