Is that Deshazor that speedy made that catch on?

Yes. And in his post-scrimmage interview Sumlin said Brandon Williams and Mastro were the two that stood out to him.

yes. He's quicker than you'd think but it shows why the LB that missed in the open field is further down the depth chart. Horrible angle and got juked by Allen

The long play was Davis but honestly it was pretty good coverage. The shorter out route was Deshazor

No fault to the DB on Speedy's catch for sure, that was just a "take your hat off to 'em" play.
The thing I liked was even though we had some nice running plays for sure they weren't just running through huge holes. The middle especially seemed pretty stuffed up in all of the video and Mastro made a couple of SEC LB run stuffs.
I also thought it was funny as soon as I saw the last highlight come up with Connor at QB I thought, "I bet this is a Pick 6" and sure enough...
Both QB's looked good but we really, really don't need to get to our 3rd string. Might be better off running Speedy in the Wildcat in that case.

Not really fair to judge Connor on that pick-6. It wasn't exactly a normal play. Tyler Godwin came straight free inside. That's on Ledwick imo. You simply can't let the NT come free. Ledwick is just learning center so it's technical. It's tough to snap a ball and move if it's all new.
Btw, the OL on that play for those wondering who is playing where:
LT - Koda, LG - Tipoti, C - Ledwick, RG - Stuckey, RT - Gustaffson
Koda also made a mental error on the Harvey sack. He should have kicked outside. These guys are all learning new positions and techniques so it's to be expected tbh.

I love me some Connor. Seems like a great Ag. I just was thought it was funny my instinct when I saw him come out was a Pick 6 based on how the highlights were going. Agree it isn't fair because basically that is 3rd/4th Teamers playing on both sides which makes for ugly football. Let Connor dump it off to Speedy or pass to RSJ and I'm sure he would look quite a bit different.
