I was actually disappointed by the lack of information on this guy in the article.

Does anyone else know anything about this guy? Can he at least fill the roll of a decent pass rush until Lawson comes back?

Suppoedly he's pretty damn good. And singlehandedly caused VolNation to meltdown.

He's supposed to be pretty good. Tennessee really wanted him but we stole him. Haven't heard much about him from the coaches so far. I have a felling Wright will be playing on the edge to help full for Lawson. Then you have Owens, Daniel to help. Don't feel great about our situation at DE without Lawson but I'm not overly worried about it

His meltdown wasn't nearly as good as when I posed as Carl Lawson and announced my intentions of going to UT. That was a classic.

At 290+ pounds on a ~6'2 frame, its hard to exactly imagine Lambert being an explosive edge rusher as a DE. I've always imagined him as a disruptive DT, or a line-setting SDE type. He should be a great player, but I'm not exactly sure he has the skill-set to replace Lawson/Ford's role.

Garner really likes him. sad he's having a really good fall camp. He and Lawrence will play a lot. I don't think we have any one guy that will lead the league in sacks or anything, but we should be ok with Owens Lambert Daniel and Gabe

He won't be a speed rusher, but he might be our best all-around DL besides Gabe (or if Monty flips the switch like many expect). He was the best JUCO DL in the nation, and coaches are already praising him, they love his size/athleticism combination.

He may not "start", but I expect him to get as many snaps as anyone on our DL

I agree. I think we'll have less sacks, but more QB pressures. And I think our run D is going to be way better.

I think Owens has the ability to fill in pretty well for Lawson pass rushing. He did a great job against a top 10 tackle in the aTm game.

Damn he is pretty freaking big. I have to agree, if he's as athletic as coach was saying in that article I think we'll be ok

Having a push from the middle will help. Several of Dee's sacks came when Gabe or Elijah flushed the QB to him.

I'm fine with losing a pass rush if it elevates our run stopping game to an elite level. We should have a brick wall on 1st and 2nd down

Maybe we can get some "Coverage sacks" this year. How long has it been?

If JG stays healthy he will fill most of the void left by Ford and Lawson.
