I. Hate. The. Offseason.

Think Bama would pass more with Coker, run more with Sims so he has the threat of running too.

IF Blake Sims:
175/275 (63.6%) for 2,420 yards (8.8 YPA) with 18 TDs and 9 INTs

95 rushes for 456 yards (4.8 YPC) and 5 TDs with 1 fumble

IF Jake Coker:
190/295 (64.4%) for 2,655 yards (9 YPA) with 20 TDs and 8 INTs

60 rushes for 240 yards (4 YPC) and 3 TDs with 3 fumbles

Meh. 17 days, 21 hours, 44 minutes, 20 seconds

3,600+ yards
35+ touchdown passes

Hill or Allen

HOWEVER, Manziel was Sumlin's first multi year starting QB not to have at least a 4500 yard season (including Brees, White, Bradford, and Keenum)

So a starting QB hasn't emerged for Bama yet? Coker-heads must be getting a little nervous.

I think any Bama fans hyping him (I imagine they come from Tidefans) pay too much attention to the size/arm/athleticism he has. Yes, he has those things and the POTENTIAL to MAYBE one day become something really good, but he's still a little raw. I don't doubt his work ethic and smarts, he worked hard to graduate and get here. But still being raw, does he have the anticipation? Sometimes he stares down routes. Not all the time, but sometimes.

The one thing he has to do is be more consistent. But right now neither QB has done anything to separate themselves based off of what we know. Saban/Kiffin may be of a different opinion, but they sure as hell aren't saying anything. We expect both QBs to play vs WVU, and possibly FAU and Southern Miss as well.

But now that we have that out of the way, back to the thread on hand. No reason to turn anything into a big debate or an inevitable pissing contest. Just a friendly thread for everyone to take some stabs at what their QB will do.

I'd raise that YPC, but maybe it's just me. Never knew how truly great an athlete he was until I saw him run right past and away from Landon Collins.

This thread screams homer, but this post took it way over the top.

Brandon Harris will not produce anything near to those numbers.

and this doesnt, 20 tds and only 7 picks for coker and only 7 pick for Sims.
Atleast we had the honesty to show our first year starter will screw up some. haha

Brandon Harris will surprise people if miles gives him the nod

Well 7 INTs for Sims was a decent number because of pass attempts + Saban will protect our QBs, scheme wise. They won't throw many INTs because he'll hammer it into their skulls not to take those chances. I thought it could be more, but gave them the benefit of the doubt due to the scheme.

He's gonna be a stud. As is Noil. A&M has no shortage of weapons to throw to.

Touche! But from what ive seen of sims (not a lot) he may throw more than 7 picks even though he wouldnt be throwing a lot. And coker has a big arm and im pretty sure he will take plenty of unwanted risks. I'd put them both around the 10 section solely because saban's qbs tend to take little risk and he has a very safe scheme on the QB's behalf. Post corner, TE usage, etc.

I moved their numbers up a bit, but for my own sanity I don't wanna put 10 or higher. I'm not saying it won't happen, just that I'll never stop bitching if it does.
