in other words, post something that doesn't have the ESPN highlight reel appeal of a "kick six" or "bluegrass miracle", but something an avid fan would recognize as an impressive feat.
last night, i was talking to one of my gamecock buddies about this season's auburn/USC-e matchup, and we reminisced over something interesting that happened in the 2006 game. auburn got the ball to start the 3rd quarter & chewed up alot of clock en route to a score. auburn then recovered an onside kick, and that drive ended up spilling into the 4th. so basically, south carolina's offense didn't take a single snap in the entire quarter. factor in halftime as well, and that would account for....well, a ahit-load of time without touching the ball
of course, that didn't have the sex appeal to generate any post-game headlines, but most astute fans i know acknowledge it as a cool little achievement....
and yes, i'm aware that the regular season needs to start soon, lol...
anyone else?

A lot of good Gameday signs, I guess.

3-2 UA/MS works as well.

I remember in 2003, against USC, we had a 21+ play drive that took over 12 minutes of clock. Kind of solidified the game IMO. I think we only threw a couple passes.

not letting teams cross the 50 yard line. seen AU & Bama both pull this one off and its impressive as hell every time. winning a SEC game with your pass attempts still in single digits was amazing as well.

Jason Witten's TD catch vs Arkansas in 2002 to win it in the 6th overtime. A huge portion of the crowd in Neyland Stadium left when UT fumbled the ball over to Arkansas in the 3rd OT, not knowing that they would subsequently miss a 25 yard FG. Three more OT's later...Witten catches one across the middle to put it away. 6 freakin overtimes...I was there in the South Endzone...I swear, it was louder when about 50,000 people left after OT #3.

In terms of witnessing personally - actually being there:
1993, Alabama vs Ole Miss in Oxford. Ole Miss was 4-2 and had a very good defense led by Cassius Ware, and coached by Joe Lee Dunn. Alabama was coming off the end of their winning streak, just having tied Tennessee in a miracle "comeback" the week before to avoid the loss.
I was a grad student at Ole Miss at the time, and sat in the Ole Miss student section, decked out in Bama gear. By halftime, Ole Miss was playing their hearts out, and Alabama was stifled. Ole Miss led 7-6 and the reigning national champions had TWO yards rushing in the first half. Brian Burgdorf was quarterback for Bama, in front of Brian Steger (Mr. Fumblitis, the total package RB who had everything except hands).
Alabama managed a FG in the third and squeaked ahead 9-7...but they were in serious trouble, with the home crowd really believing Ole Miss was going to win.
And then....David Palmer. There's no other way to describe it. He just took the remarkably inept Alabama offense on his shoulders, and carried them all. He caught a long pass. He threw a long pass. He returned a long kick. The kid was electric, and Bama escaped Oxford with a 19-14 win.
If you aren't old enough to have seen David Palmer, he's probably an obscure name to you and you don't know why older Bama fans talk about him like he was a legend. He was a once in a lifetime player in college.

During my 4 years as a student, LSU only lost one home game (Bama '12)
ETA: and I was there for every game.

Against Auburn in 2011 the greatest sequence of events happened on 4 consecutive plays: Deep ball to Reuben Randall for a TD, Huge hit on the kickoff, pick 6, another huge hit on the kickoff.
Also, the LSU vs Troy comeback from behind 28 points to win

That sequence felt like video game football. LSU could do no wrong. After the 2010 Auburn game it felt so good too

Related to the kick six, when Malzahn called time out after seeing the Bama PK team line up... AU changed the defense and put in the punt return team with Chris Davis back instead of Ryan Smith.
Thats what allowed the Kick Six. Brilliant coaching.

I was at three of the top four football games of last year, DSOR, Iron Bowl, and the NFL blitz game that was TAMU v. Duke.

That game was a fricking nightmare. LSU called off the dogs in the 4th quarter. By then Auburn had quit and LSU could have hung 60 on us no problem. That is the shite that got Chizik fired.
