Archie, Eli, & Peyton: Who Was the Best Manning (College Only)

I'm surprised this debate does not come up more often, kinda like Bo vs Herschel (the answer is Bo).
There was a discussion of Archie earlier on one of the local radio shows which made the point that Ole Miss was at it's peak when he was there and even though Eli won a share of the SECw they've never had the same level of success that they achieved under Archie
I think it's a draw between Archie and Peyton?

Ole Miss wasn't at its peak when Archie was there. That was a decade earlier.
Archie is the best because he had the fewest resources around him.

No NCs for any college Manning, so
Archie.

Archie and I have 3 of his shirts to prove it. He was the dominant QB

I think they were trying to say this was the last period Ole Miss was nationally relevant?

Not to derail but hoping an Ole Miss or Tennessee fan can briefly explain why Peyton went to Rocky Top instead of Oxford?
Did Ole Miss not recruit him or what? I didn't follow SEC recruiting and all that back then and I'm curious.
Btw, it has to be Archie.

With all the talent Fulmer had during Manning's run it's amazing he didn't win at least one title but Fla was pretty loaded as well. They did win it the year after Manning was gone but they beat a FSU team that would have manhandled that Tenn team with a healthy QB. Fla - Tenn battles similar to the recent LSU - Bama battles.
Would be nice to see those two teams get back to where they were when the east was so dominant.

I think he wanted to make his own legacy.

Peyton didn't attend Ole Miss due to probation and Cooper's spinal problem that ended his career.

I wonder if Peyton is regarded any differently if he wins either a NC or a Heisman while in college?

Eli.
he had no body to help him.

Should have won the Heisman that year

Peyton and Archie were two completely different types of qb it's hard to compare them.
