Other than a time machine.

Personally, I think Butch has the program headed slowly but surely in the right direction. But being competitive and being old school Tennessee are different.

The one thing I notice in being in Tennessee and at games is an apparent drop off in youth being excited about UT. I especially don't think that brand is carrying far outside of Tennessee these days.

Probably the quickest way to make Tennessee a top tier school again would be an influx of young, marketable talent that people latch on to. Tennessee needs a rock star, especially with Jones at coach (he's a good coach but he's boring and won't make up the ground for other boring schools like UA and SCAR).

Quality lineman and lots of them quickly. Their front lines this year will be in trouble.

they need to move the university to a more talent rich area like Louisiana, Texas, California, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, a truck stop in Fargo, ect

you need Mark Richt/Saban/Gus to retire so you can start recruiting Georgia again?

a JFF type player would be great for yall. Not an off the field idiot. Just one that makes plays and win games all by himself.

other than that you need big emotional wins. Like ALabama against Arky in 2007. that was huge for our psyche as a fan. It helped that we knew Saban was a great coach, but to see it on the field was even better. The game against LSU that year was also incredible.

Yall had that "Arky win" last year against South Carolina. And you almost(should have) beaten UGA, kinda like us against LSU.

Butch seems like a straight forward team coach. not one to bring attention to himself like Kiffen/spurrier.

quit it with the uniform changes. that hype is fake...

I think Butch has us on the right track, the fan-base is engaged, we're recruiting at a high level, and most importantly the players have bought into the system.

At the bare minimum, the next guy will have a viable foundation to work with.

Other than Clowney, who loafed around, who has been an exciting player for SCAR recently? Nobody. You're just a good team. The star of the program is Spurrier, so you don't really need one.

Their athletic department is broke. Bad management and no state income tax in Tennessee. They can't afford to spend money like the other big boys in the SEC anymore.

This is bad news when you live in a state that plays pillow fight high school football. Broke university. Crappy high school football. Tennessee ain't coming back anytime soon imo.

Other than Clowney, Lattimore, Jeffery, Melvin Ingram?

If you've ever been to a game at Williams-Brice, I hardly think "boring" would be the term for our atmosphere.

Clowney, who was totally uninteresting in his most hyped year. Lattimore, who had consecutive seasons cut short by injury.

Jeffery and Ingram are pretty laughable in a discussion of reviving a program where the names tossed around are Cam and JFF.

Stop being so uptight. If you want to act like you're a big boy football program, you need to recognize when someone's fricking with you and when they're giving you an honest assessment that isn't pejorative. Grow up.
