MSU was the most improved moving from 52nd to 18th in the country from 2012 to 2013.
We return "8" starters, but they are not counting Hughes who went down in the first game.
Had a great young rotation. You know my point...

LSU
If they won't be able to get elite production/disruption from their unproven DTs then they might just bring back the most entertaining defensive scheme from the Chief's 2011 playbook...
Hybrid nickel sets that will usually lead up to the third down 3-1-7 where pressure and coverages are totally unpredictable and it's all about extreme speed that is usually kept fresh all game.
This will be the first time that the Tigers will have the secondary depth to do this since the Honey badger was burning up the turf!(among other things)

Debatable.

MSU held us to our fewest points in a game last season I think.

State has as many wins vs Arkansas the last two years as Arkansas has against the entire SEC

Total defense doesn't matter. Mississippi State had the best defense in the SEC in non-con games giving up 12.4 ppg. However, they had the #7 defense in conference play giving up 29.6 ppg. Not horrible considering Auburn, Bama, and A&M all scored an average of over 38 ppg in conference play and South Carolina was no slouch either, but still a lot of room for improvement.

We'd have to take A&M's defense from last year and give them Ebola for them to be worse. Can't say how much better we'll be, but when you're at rock bottom, there's nowhere else to go.

Probably A&M just because they were so bad

MSU gave up 59 to LSU in Starkville last season. So with your "improved" defense and LSU's young offense the Tigers might only manage 45 in Tiger Stadium.

20. Not sure if that was your lowest. Was at the game with a friend.. bama guy, former OL. Said it was the best DL he had seen to that point all year.

110 combined points against aTm and LSU... Good thing you laid the wood to Alcorn State and Jackson State... Definitely helped out the defensive numbers.

Yes we did, 28 in the 4th quarter.

You did lose you top producers. Met, Hill, Beckham, Blue, Landry.... Hell.. you even lost the none producers like Copeland, Boone..
205 passes caught, 170 of those belong to guys no longer at LSU.
But hey.. you still got ole T Dick. He caught 5 passes. 44% Jennings... He's back.
You do have a great point!

That and not allowing ole miss an offensive TD.

LSU will be much improved.
I love our DEs, LBs, and CBs.
We are built to stop the Spread Offense.
Now can we stop power running teams?
I hope so, DTs are plenty, but unproven.
Overall, coaches like our team and think we will be better with youth. Add LSU to list.
