I didn't realize Dan Mullen was still hurting for a signature win. Will the grind ever be fueled by something of substance rather than cupcakes?

It's like some of you are forgetting why we fired Gene Chizik.

Egg Bowl 2013 is Mullen's signature win to date.

I think it's actually the 2009 Egg Bowl when we were number 25. That may be his only win over a top 25 team. I think Florida may have been top 25 in 2010 when they beat them though.

Except that reasonable people look at end of season rankings for discussions like this. Who would brag about beating overhyped 2012 Southern Cal with the knowledge of how underwhelming they ended up being? We don't get cool points for being Michigan when they were in the top 10 week one of 2012, nor should we have; they finished 8-5.

Not everyone gets to play Clemson every year.
OP should do 2011-2013 records versus teams that finish the season unranked next; Alabama's the only team with an undefeated record in that statistic.

I don't think this means what you think this means.

FWIW seeing stats is why SC fans cringe when there are threads or discussions about SC's "lack of success" Yeah it sucks we don't have as much hardware as we'd have like by now but we clearly aren't just a "flash in the pan, had 1 good year and won the East" that some people like to try to make us out to be because of our lack of SECCG appearances.

In that time frame Clemson has knocked off every SEC team it has played. That includes UGA, AU, and LSU I believe. Just not us.

Oh and if you take out Clemson that still puts us at 9-3, still better than 'Bama

Someone needs to post which games those were.
Winning/losing to #25 is obviously not the same as winning/losing to #3.

Awe... The widdle Bama fan is not happy because a statistic doesn't show Bama as #1...
