Lets say Muschamp has another disastrous season, and the first four coaches offered to replace him as the gators head coach are:
Charlie Strong
Dan Mullen
Urban Meyer
and Steve Spurrier

Also.. lets say UF offers each of them more money than their current schools. Would any of those four coaches leave their current programs for UF's Head coaching Job?

I say No..for Spurrier, Strong, and Meyer, because each of their programs are pretty solid.

I say Yes for Dan Mullen. I think he would leave Miss. State for Florida. With his Nazi like approach to marketing his program, he'd probably go with the slogan " HAIL SWAMP ".

I have no idea. Would Gerry Dinardo return if Les is poisoned by eating a blade of grass tainted with Scott's Turfbuilder.

Any of the 4 would be a MASSIVE upgrade.

Your threads are turrible. The only decent one you made was the hometown one.

Yeah well Mullen would never get offered.

This is a dumb thread.

Why not? He's much better than Muschamp. The two aren't even on the same planet in terms of coaching abilities.

I mean Mullen has a better winning % at State than Muschamp does at UF.

That's pretty damn telling.

Granted, Strong is at Texas now, but let's assume he's still at the 'Ville, and Florida has an opening. Would Strong not get consideration for that job? I know that he was passed up once after Meyer/before Muschamp, but did that sour his relationship with Foley so badly that he would never consider going back to Florida? Or was he just not "HC at Florida" material?

I'm honestly curious. I know a lot of SC fans were kinda hoping that Strong would still be "available" after Spurrier retired, so I'm interested to hear what you think about him.

I think RoadGator has mentioned strong having issues with UF admin on other threads in the past, but I couldn't remember specifics. ***I could be wrong, and if so, myself

Personally, I'd like him at UF. Always been a fan of his myself.

That makes sense. I seem to remember some SC fans that were pretty well connected make the case that Strong would have taken the job at USC if offered, but that he was pretty pissed at some of the schools that didn't offer when they could - Florida included.

That said, Foley seems like a tough SOB to work for. He's a fantastic AD, no doubt, but the handful of times I've ever been around him, he wasn't exactly pleasant. (And neither was Hyman. Dick.)

Are you equating State to TN and La Tech to UF?
