@jimdunaway: Sorry, just spit out my coffee RT @SDS: Film Study: Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott has a Cam Newton-like skill set LINK

There’s just something about Mississippi State junior quarterback Dak Prescott. Despite not having overwhelming statistics (10 touchdowns with seven interceptions and a 58.4 completion percentage), or experience, you just get a certain feeling that when he’s behind center there’s not much his offense can’t accomplish.
A natural comparison for him is former Auburn do-it-all QB Cam Newton — who, at times, singlehandedly put the Tigers on his back when some believed his team didn’t match up across the board talent-wise.
The formula was simple: Have Cam convert first downs with his feet, mostly inside power runs, to loosen up coverage out wide for explosive plays. Additionally, rely on a defense that was able to make plays of its own behind one of the better players in the country, defensive tackle Nick Fairley.
As it pertains to State, Prescott certainly has that type of talent and its defense has numerous candidates to play the Fairley role. This could be a very successful season for the boys in Starkville.
But it all falls on the shoulders of one Mr. Prescott – who has broad enough shoulders that are more than capable of handling whatever that thrown his way.

I am sure the butthurt Ole Miss fans will be here shortly to discredit this
They care more about MSU than their own team

He reminds me more of Tebow, at least physically.

I think production wise he will probably be like Matt Jones.

Its really a bad article. I mean, the kid has some skills, and can take State for a good ride this year, but saying his stats aren't that great, but there's nothing he can't do.....Come on, at least clean that $#!+ up...

Dr. Bro is not going to have more carries, rushing yards, and likely won't have more rushing TDs than the Dak Knight, but, since we threw the ball the second most in the conference last season, it's probable that Bo has more passing completions, attempts, passing yards, passing YPG, and passing TDs.
QB rating and interceptions are a little more subjective.

Naw...Dak isn't quite Cam, but he is close and the best QB in the SEC right now. Just plays for a shite team.

Wonder why he hasnt had a great year in the other two full seasons that he was the starter.

Don't ever compare Prescott to your thug POS QB. Prescott has no criminal record so everyone knows Aubarn should have no interest in him.

He was statistically solid last season. Too many TO's in 2013 but he cut those down tremendously last year.

He kind of reminds me of Stephen Garcia, looks great vs. LSU but shits his pants vs. Bama, Mizzou, and State.
