Would you rather see Debose play outside or slot receiver?

Today at Muschamps media day he said Debose was going to be playing the outside and the slot. They are gonna try to utilize him on some speed sweeps and plays of that nature. I think he would be a great YAC type of guy myself but it seems we have always used him as our deep threat or nothing guy.

I'd love to see him in the slot, personally. I like speedy receivers to play both inside and out, especially for those crossing routes.

I just hope Driskel recognizes coverage and doesn't get any of our receivers creamed.

I would love for the coaching staff to turn him into that type of "catch 5 yards in the flat" type of receiver then let him the do the rest type of WR. Then when the CB and LB start to key in on him, then let him loose on a go route while Jake McGee and Fulwood are running in the middle of the field. I would like for the ratio to be about 10 catches in the middle and go for about 5 deep shots down the field. Make it were he has a great presence in intermediate open space were he can be a legit deep threat later in the game. If Debose finally breaks through this year, its really gonna make Robinson shine.

I totally agree. I think Debose would have a lot of people key in on him because he's such a threat as an athlete. I just hope we can work in enough angles to make defenses not stack 10 guys in the box with no fear of a throw.

If they put in 10 in the box IMO Debose would straight kill it on slants and bubble/slip screens.

The only thing that scares me about the slot is I see a lot of players get hurt there (perhaps this is a bit of a confirmation bias, because I pay more attention to those injuries) on the slant. Like I said with Driskel: He doesn't seem to protect his receivers at all, and I hope he's had a "Come To Jesus" type of deal this offseason.

I actually like Driskel a lot, but man he's had a tough road.

I like the kid to, I believe if Meyer would of stayed and ran that offense, Driskel would of made some people forget about Tebow. Im excited to see him finally in a offense he is suitable for. I am just saying I want our most athletic guy playing slot and I hope to hell he doesn't get injured.

Idc. Just put him wherever he can actually contribute.

Debose lost a lot of his lateral wiggle when he had surgery the 1st time. I would say outside. He runs the go route better than anyone.

Yeah and I don't want to make this about Muschamp because that horse has been clubbed to death but I really think they kind of fricked him over by changing his style. He clearly wants to win, and his best asset is his mobility and he clearly wants to run. He's looked great on designed runs, and hopefully he can take some licks and not get injured.

I definitely want that, and we're on the same page. I prefer slot receivers being the best receivers, simply because I feel like they offer a more dynamic role. Tons more routes to run, more looks and the jet sweeps look much better from that position in my opinion.

I understand that, I really do but how effective can the go route be when the defense knows its coming every single play. Thats all I am saying.

I also love how a very good athletic WR is a very good mismatch for the LB's. When they have to start worrying about the slot receiver coming across the middle every down, that really opens up the run game and the TE can also slip out and get some nice gains.

It sort of forces the opposing team to play man -- because if they don't then a major mismatch does come into play. Then all it takes is a quick squat, and let our best athlete do what he can.

I just never want to see another injury again. :/
