Ron Franklin, Tim Brando, or Uncle Verne?

If your team is on national TV, and you could pick your commentator, who would you choose?

Ron Franklin is the GOAT and an OM grad, but Uncle Verne has been the voice of the SEC during its modern rise to the top. Timmy B can go play in traffic, but Louisiana loves him, so I'm not sure who would be the most popular pick.

If anyone doesn't say Ron Franklin then they should be banned.

This isn't even a contest.

Gimme Ron, easily.

And why is Brando even a choice?

Sorry, but are we talking about "Voice of the Texas Longhorns," Ron Franklin?

No thanks.

Yeah he was great. I really miss the ESPN primetime games with him and Gottfried back in the mid/late 90s. Always a great broadcast.

It has nothing to do with being "sipsessed."
Something tells me very few of you would be thrilled with a very biased announcer (and commentator for your most heated rival) calling your university's games .
You've never heard him work an A&M game (it's brutal), or you'd understand.
No skin off my nose that you don't--to each his own.
But he's horrible on the mic in Aggie games.

Ron Franklin (left) introduces Earl Campbell Friday at the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award dinner at Willow Brook Country Club. Both Franklin and Campbell are excited about Strong being named head coach of the Texas Longhorns. (Herb Nygren Jr. | Tyler Morning Telegraph)

Again, no thanks.

This was a cute thread, sweetheart, but it's time to get back in the kitchen and make some dinner while the men talk football.

It's August, sweetcakes.
