The current group of sophomores and freshmen we've amassed is now pretty intriguing. Assuming for the moment that nobody like JW3 etc goes pro early, consider what our lineup would be like in 2016-17:

JW3 Sr.
Cam Beidschid Sr.
Wes Clark Sr.
Torren Jones Sr.
Jakeenan Gant Jr.
Gill-Caesar Jr.
Namon Wright Jr.
D'Angelo Allen Jr.
Tremaine Isabell Jr.

That team already looks national-contender loaded with the sophomore and freshman classes completely vacant. And something tells me this coaching staff will continue to pile on good talent for those sophomore and freshman classes.

Damn. So far at least, I gotta admit. I was wrong about Anderson. He's done an outstanding job himself and surrounding himself with guys that can get the job done. Now let's carry it to the court.

Even if a couple of those guys don't stick ATX, there's still a ton of talent there that will be supplemented with the next classes. Dreaming for a bit but to add to yours:

JW3 Sr.
Cam Beidschid Sr.
Wes Clark Sr.
Torren Jones Sr.
Jakeenan Gant Jr.

Gill-Caesar Jr.
Namon Wright Jr.
D'Angelo Allen Jr.
Tremaine Isabell Jr.

Whitt So.
Bryant So.
Morgan So.

Tatum Fr.
Maker Fr.

Yeah, ok, dreaming a bit like I said, but if you have that kind of talent on the team, I think it puts you in a better position with someone like Tatum I would think.

This roster has a lot of movable parts too. Some guys that can shift between the 1 and 2 or the 3 and 4 and so on.

Point
Shamburger 5'11"
Clark 6'0"
Isabell 6'0"

Wing
Bello 6'4"
Wright 6'5"
Teki 6'6"
Biedscheid 6'7"
Allen 6'7"
Gant 6'8"

Post
JW3 6'9"
Rosburg 6'10"
Post 6'11"
Jones 6'8"

Chemistry (because they haven't played together for the most part) and youth (that is where the real talent is) will be the biggest challenges for this group I would guess.

Is Lock going to get to play hoops for us after this year?

I'm really out of the loop but I thought he was going to (be allowed) to dual sport..

Let's pray he doesn't smoke pot and beat women so he will be eligible to play at KU next year.

Don't think it was ever definitively discussed and I would highly doubt it.

He is old, and my argument all along has been his age, not his recruiting ability. I just hope he coaches for more then 5 years.

It's his dream job. If he wins, they'll carry him out on a plank.

I would like to see Anderson here for 10 years (if he produces) before he retires. Is that asking too much? I think he can do it. Hell, Spurrier is 69.

I think he'll stay for 10 but no more than that. Hopefully he can groom one of the assistants.

these recruits CKA got are cool and all, but the fact that he has these players talking about defense is what I like way more. Coach Kim,

I agree with the defense comments, but my questions about this hire were his age and his ability to recruit. So far, KA has not stumbled in any aspect of what he's had to accomplish. In fact I don't see how anyone could have expected this much, much less more, good news and growing excitement around the program, considering everything that's gone on at MU since FH was hired. I never had any question about KA as a coach. Age related to recruiting was my concern, and every one of the kids he's signed pointed at KA sealing the deal with them. If he has 5 or 15 years left in him, if he keeps this up we'll be much, much better as a program over that timeframe than what we've had for a while.

I would so love to see him groom another former player as the next head coach. I could be dead wrong, but I don't suspect it will be Fuller or Fulford. They'll probably be long gone, unless we could bring them back.

Would love for that to happen as well. Fuller and Fulford probably won't stay here for a long time, so there'll be chances for some former players to come onto the staff. The main thing though is to enhance MU's prestige going forward, so that when the time comes to hire a new coach we'll be in a better spot to get a good, proven coach at this level.
