With all this offseason's drama, particularly with freshman, what about a league rule which athletically ruled kids inelegible if thy had certain background problems (ie arrests or grades) which didn't deny them scholarships or anything but ruled them a mandatory redshirt.
Could that cure some of the shenanigans at all for some of these guys? What say you?

If a kid can't stay in line, why should anything be given to him.

The thought is part in parcel of how ridiculous recruiting has gotten in the last decade. Its become an minor league draft and the celebrity aspect has really impacted the college landscape.

Because if said kid is a phenom 5 star, no one particularly cares if he can't stay in line. Unless there are some repercussions. For everyone.
