Following the espn countdown of best players in college football. They have ranked 50-100. And y'all have 4 linebackers in the top 100. That's sick. In your opinion. Who is the best one? And that's crazy to have that much talent at linebacker. The rankings warrented for all or some on potential. Forgive me ignorance as I do not follow bulldog football

Ramik Wilson is the best IMO

It's hard to really say which is the best but I'd probably say Leonard Floyd. He has the highest ceiling and he'll make some major change on Sundays in the future.
Ramik Wilson put up some huge numbers last year, led the SEC in tackles so he's really good too
Jordan Jenkins and Amarlo Hererra are both really solid players too...we stacked

It's difficult to answer this question because all of them provide completely different things. Floyd will be the best IMO because of the potential he has. He's a freak athlete and is perfect for the outside position in a 3-4. Struggles in pass coverage a little bit but it was his first year playing. Jenkins is great and I think I underrated him last year because I had such high expectations going in (I blame Jarvis for that). He lost a lot of weight which should help him tremendously because he looked slow at the end of last year. Ramik is quick and hopefully under Pruitt's system he will be making all of his tackles near the line of scrimmage instead of a few yards upfield. Todd says Ramik is a beast though and I'm going to trust him and his opinion of any player that can stop him. Amarlo is solid as well. Maybe a step slower than you'd like as a middle linebacker but he's another guy who should hopefully be quicker this year. Ramik and Amarlo were maybe a hair overrated because we had no other options at middle linebacker last year so they were able to make so many tackles playing 98% of the plays. I hope their stats aren't quite as good this year because that means we have a little bit better depth. This may be a little bit more than you were asking for, but all 4 of them are great players that could start for almost any other team in the country.

As of now Wilson is the best but I think Floyd has the most upside

That's tough to answer. "Best" just overall? Eehhhh, maybe OLB Leonard Floyd. But they all have strengths. Wilson finished #1 in tackles in the SEC last year and Herrera finished 3rd IIRC.
Best college LB right now- Ramik Wilson
Best run stopper (ie, your prototypical head smasher ILB)- Amarlo Herrera
Then Floyd and Jenkins are both speed rushers off the edge at OLB. They all have their strengths, but if you go by NFL draft potential it'd probably be Floyd.

The way I think about it is if you're an opposing OC, Floyd is the one you're game planning for. Wilson and Herrera (the better of the two, imo) are productive, but they're not dynamic. They aren't going to blow up what you're trying to do. Jenkins can but isn't as good as Floyd.
Floyd is a beast. If you're going against UGA, you have to have a plan to deal with Floyd. He's gifted enough to be better than Jarvis Jones was a few years ago. He might be the most physically gifted defender in the SEC.

I'll take Herrera and Floyd as 1a and 1b but I value a run stopping ILB more than a pass rusher.

My friends say I'm crazy when I tell them I think that Floyd could end up being a better pure pass rusher than Jones. Jones had the knack to make game changing plays and was a great pass rusher. I think Floyd has the ability to be better at getting to the QB.
