With the opening game against A$M? It seems a lot of your fans here in the upstate area are predicting a blow-out. Keep in mind A$M has recruited at a high level the last few years and Sumlin's system really benefits a 1st year QB.

It'll be close until the 4th and we pull away. I'm about as nervous as any other game. Not as nervous as I'd be against Georgia or Auburn though.

I've feeling better every week since the offseason. Those mother frickers can't keep their guys out of jail. We'll be playing against guys who were projected as 2nd/3rd sting guys 6 months ago.

They'll still score a bunch of points, but we'll score more points, and the WB's homefield advantage will be too much for a true FR QB to overcome on the road.

That's true. They do have a lot of off the field issues. I would say that is a huge advantage if they had pedestrian recruiting classes the past few years. They still have a ton of weapons.

I think you guys should win and probably will win at home. I don't necessarily think them starting a freshman in the cock pit is a good way to start a career. It should be interesting.

Texas A&M look to be an up-and-coming program in the SEC during the next few years. They do have the makings of an excellent class for 2015, and their 2014 class was also top 10. Those prospects will be true freshmen this season, and while a few here and there could pop up and having great break-through seasons, I doubt they'll make a huge impact. Their 2013 and 2012 classes were only a couple rankings above ours, and their classes prior to that were behind ours. The question I guess is how much of an impact will those freshmen have on the season-opening game versus us...

In either case, I do not think it will be a "blow-out" by any means, but I am confident. Sumlin's offenses are always good and the Aggies should score on our young defense, but their own defensive issues to me seem far, far more serious than what we'll be dealing with, while we'll return one of the most productive offenses in USC's history largely intact.

So I do expect there to be a lot of points scored by both teams, but I feel USC should pull the victory out in the end...

I don't see A&M's offense running roughshod over our defense.

I also don't see us giving them that many chances. We're going to play ball control offense and take what they give us in the process.

If Spurrier can run the ball for 500 yards in this game, he will.

This is what I'm nervous about. I don't want to get into a shootout.

Feeling fairly comfortable. Interested to several aspects on both teams, primarily for us how the defense performs. For A&M it will be contingent on whether or not Kyle Allen is ready to play. I don't find Tra Carson very impressive and majority of the receivers are young. Sumlin usually produces a solid offense but it will be interesting to see how far he can go with a weak defense and such a young offense.

I couldn't imagine sending a true freshman QB into that environment. Hell, I'm nervous about sending Mason into that shite

Exactly, this is going to be that aTm QB's first college game ever. They can try to simulate noise in practice, pump up music and such, but it's a totally different feeling and world to actually be playing in front of 80,000 people who are screaming at you and hoping you perform badly.

Thursday night games tend to be extra rowdy too. Auburn in 06 and Ole Miss in 09 are two of the best environments I've been in.

Sandstorm wasn't used pre-2009? I thought y'all had used that song ever since it came out in the early 2000's

How do you see this? I see it as the opposite with a system QB needing time to learn the system and gel w/ the team. especially harder trying to follow JFF who had atypical traits. As opposed to Mason that just needs to master the handoff to Gurley and some occasional passes until he gets the feel.

Do you remember all the hype about Snead coming into that game? He was a early Heisman candidate, Ole Miss was supposed to be a national title contender, that OL was awesome, Greg hardy was back on their DL, we were supposed to get taken to the shed...but our defense played lights out. Snead wasn't mentioned for any Heisman conversations after that game.

I'm inclined to think this will be a high scoring game, except for our history of slow starts in season openers. I expect a tight first half with us winning by 2 TDs in the second.
