FWIW, I was just told by a Verizon rep that "we will carry" the SEC Network.

Don't know if she's speaking out of turn, hates her job and doesn't care, or actually knows something, but I'll throw this out there.

I'm pretty sure everyone will carry it before the start. The ones holding out might make people pay for the service which could be the reason for the delay.
