Question about Ole Miss and State in-state recruiting

Started this thread over on the State board as well.
Maybe it's just me but over the last ten or so years (really since Mullen arrived in Starkville) it seems like both schools have cut off the top talent in the state from everyone else. One of the excuses I used to here for why neither Ole Miss or State were any good was because our top talent went to either Alabama or LSU. Sure some still slip away from us but I'd be willing to bet if they're recruited hard by either Mississippi school now, 90% of the state's top talent will stay within our borders.
What do you think?

Those are the only highly rated players I can think of leaving the state in the past few years off the top of my head

They did what it took to get him. He's started for three years for them so it obviously worked out.

I seem to recall him getting burned for long touchdowns quite a few times. You get to see the back of his jersey a lot on t.v. So, still a good pickup for them, but I think they have recruited the position better. Maybe its just sour grapes on my part though.

Two sec schools that can usually focus most of their attention on the really good in state guys. The LSUs are able to pick and choose and also have the prestige to recruit big names in other states

The Dickson brothers from the coast ... We could've used both of them at TE but they went to LSU... Norwood went to Bama and made some huge catches during his time in TTown... I agree though... Both schools do a great job of keeping the talent in state for the most part.

That TE Faccione or something like that went to Bama. What I'm more proud of is for the most part the top MS kids seem to be qualifying out of HS. Some still have a few issues but it appears to be getting better.

Justin Woodall from Lafayette went to Alabama, too. I guess that could be considered more than a few years ago, though.

Alonzo Lawrence (Gumps) - blew up late, was a bust
Anthony Alford (USM) - coach got job @ USM
Jalen Collins (LSU) - blew up late, but solid player
Rod Woodson (Bama) - bust
Kevin Norwood (Bama) - solid career
Marlon Walls (UT) - bust
Stevan Ridley (LSU) - NFL player, was committed to OM at one point

Deandre and Alford stayed instate. I should've clarified I was just listing what I could remember back to 10. Guys like Norwood and Steen weren't rated highly by the services originally(I know they were good players though) and that's all I meant.

The only reason Steen wasn't highly rated is because he played at a AA private school. I played against him and I remember him being really big but he would stand straight up off the snap and he was slow. But if he got his hands on you, you were fricked. He ear holed one of our sophomores at the end of the game. 
Cameron Lawrence was the best player I ever played against though. Super nice off the field and came up after the games we played to just talk about the game and anything else. On the field he was fricking ferocious and was not someone you wanted coming at you. He hurt 2 of our better players on one play
